Can You See Twitch, But Not Feel It?

I have had clean EMGs. Recently I had a clean EMG done by an ALS specialist. Anyways, 6 days ago I noticed that when I hold my foot in the light, there is an area on my outer ankle on my left leg that twitches at least 15 times a minute. I can't feel a thing. I can only see it! How many people have this...where they can see tiny flutters but never feel a thing? And if you do have this...is it localized? The reason I need reassurance is because a few days ago when I had the EMG done, the tech stuck a needle right into that muscle that is constantly twitching. She thought she saw a fib on the monitor, but the ALS specialist who was reading the monitor told her that it wasn't a fib. I freaked out and even emailed my dr yesterday. She reassured me that she didn't see any fibs in any muscles and the tech thought wrong. Anyways, please give me your experiences if you see your twitches and don't feel them. I only occasionally have twitches that I can feel these days and they are all over the place. Thank you.

After a lot of mousing around, if I look at my hand, sometimes I notice little flickers just below the skin that are not the usual twitches, and that I cannot feel. Perhaps they are more common that we realize, but, since you don't feel them, you're never going to notice unless you are on a twitch expedition. Also, one questionable indication that the doctor says is meaningless is just that. I think they are looking for a lot more than a single, ambiguous blip. Remember, you can have true fasciculations that are still benign. This wouldn't worry me, and I don't think it should worry you, either, especially with a clean doctor's report!

I guess what really bothers me is that the pulsating type twitch, that sometimes pulses and sometimes flickers, is in the exact same spot on the outside of my ankle bone. It is not my pulse. If I didn't look at it in the direct light, I could never see it. Any more people that can't feel their twitches?

I get this one! On my right foot mostly, but sometimes both. Of course, I would never notice it if I wasn't such a masochistic fool! I check myself out way to frequently. My right foot was tested with EMG and came out clean--little blips and all.Becky
