yesterday for the first time since this all started last monday, i had the whole day with my calves, knees and ankles very quiet- i thought it was over, there was only feet twitching! this morning as soon as i got out of the bed my whole legs and feet below the knees are back to a gazillion twitches a minute. what did i do differently yesterday that made them almost gone? and how can i make them stop!?

Blee, the intensity of the twitching will vary, and sometimes for no reason. Some suggest different foods/drinks, some suggest exercise, some suggest being run down..can all have an affect. What I can tell you, that appears to be a trend and is also my experience- anxiety/stress/worry or even acute anger will make it worse. You need to control those emotions and that will help in calming things. Perhaps look at diet. Some aspects of that may promote it- coffee, alcohol, food additives etc etc. You would need to keep a diary of that type of stuff to gauge any trends and modify if need be. Roobos tea (which I drink) appears to help some in 'calming the nerves' A good nights sleep will help. Massage, hot showers may also help in symptom relief. Different things work for different people. You just need to work out what works for you. You may need medication if the anxiety is 'getting out of control?Bottom line to remember-we all have good days and bad days. yesterday was a good day for you, today is not so good a day..and tommorrow hopefully another good day.... but who knows. Time will help in dealing with it, with more 'good than bad days' with any luckcheersRodger

It's funny that you posted this today. I have had BFS for almost 15 months now. The last few weeks it died down alot. I mean going from 1,000's of twitches to about a 100 or so a day. I finally thought this was settling down. Then today they were back with a vengence. I have no idea why. I did exercise yesterday so maybe that did it. Who knows. My point is this is how BFS works. You have days with little activity then days with lots of activity. It is just how it is. You will find many stories like this in the archives. Totally normal.~Leslie

well, spent 13 hours at disneyland walking an estimated 10 or 11 miles....we will see how i feel in the morning :) for now im hoping im too darned exhausted to even feel the twitxhes as i nod off... in fact i was far too bust to notice them much today :) this site is great!

Hope you get to do California Adventures too when you are out here. I've been to both parks many times and in my opinion, CA is the better of the two. I actually used to work right across the street from Disneyland.

Glad to see you are a little better Blee..maybe it is mind over matter to quote someone on this board.'if you dont mind it dont matter'. Disneyland, my dream holiday, but living in aus. probably not in this life time! I would be happy to see one of them! (didn't know there was two!) take it easy, take your mind off, and you'll take a load off...it works! happy holidays (as they in the US).....or maybe that is just on TV?cheersRodger
