Calf Twitching: Hope & Disappointment

Ok, I edited this post because I was off the deep end last night. Here is a calmer version . . .

My twitches were very slight for three days over the long holiday weekend. It was wonderful! I even sat and watched a movie in the theatre and was comfortable! (I have 24/7 calf twitching primarily in the left leg.)

I was also getting hopeful it might be ending . . . NOT.

Last night, I noticed them coming back and by the time I went to bed, it was full throttle. Kept me up! It seemed to be non-stop in both legs, although during the day, it is mostly in the left. Also, my right eyelid is at it again.

So . . . is it normal in BFS to have good days and bad days? Can the twitching be tied to stress levels, fatigue, even weekends/weekdays???

Does anyone here also have restless leg syndrome?

And . . . I would assume in ALS, you don't get these types of "breaks" from the twitching?

Thanks so much.

Peg,
I do have good days then bad days, I've even had them go for 3 days! I start thinking great maybe this is the end of this nightmare, only to have them start up again. I really do notice they are so much worse after a stressfull day such as today! I'm afraid by tonight I'm going to be in bad shape :crying:

I've pretty much been over the ALS/MS scare for several months now, and have had periods of pretty stress free existence....guess what....the twitches still seem to periodically pick up for no apparent reason. You just need to get over the anxiety. This is BFS, and you're probably going to have it for quite a while.

Oh yes, I definitely notice good days and bad days alternating. Stress, exercise, hormonal changes and fatigue seem to all influence the degree of my symptoms. Weekends are better for me both physically and mentally. On the weekend I am more mentally relaxed & carefree, and because I am not sitting stationary at a desk for 7 hours I feel less twitching & tremors.

I've never been diagnosed with Restless Legs Syndrome but I've always suspected I may have a mild form of it. My legs need to constantly move(or shift) when sitting or they get this achey/tired feeling. It's weird.
