Burning Calories Through Twitching?

I was just wandering if we are twitching like crazy, does that mean we are burning more calories doing this. If so I should be burning a thousand calories a day. Instead it seems like no matter how much I diet I am slowly gaining weight. I even stopped eating anything after 5 pm in the evening and most nights I am sooo hungry when I fall asleep. Anyway everyones thoughts are welcome.

Jen, I have been starving......like I will eat like a pig and am hungry literally an hour later. It's insane! I am in the process of thyroid testing. My thyroid came back a little off in August, but has been fine ever since. I will get checked again in May. I am not on any meds for it.
Do you have thyroid problems?
Amy

No, they say I don't have any thyroid problems but everyone in my family does. I want the docs to do more testing becausse my cousin had the same problem, she was having bad thyroid symptoms and all they checked was her TSH. Which came back normal it wasn't until she got really sick and the docs fianll y started to run other thyroid tests and realized thyroid was really low. So I going back for more indepth testing.

That's interesting, Jen. I was diagnosed with "slightly" overactive Thyroid 13 yrs ago. I was on meds for 5 years but have never felt right since diagnosis. My latest Thyroid readings were: low TSH (0.35) and high T3 at 24, both are at the edge of "normal" but Doc's never worry about how you feel as long as you are within the normal parameters  Apparently, I would be treated again if my TSH was any lower and my T3 was 25.
Although my Thyroid was overactive, I put on weight instead of losing it and I think the Thyroid med I was on (Carbimazole in UK) has affected my metabolism long term. I don't know if that's why I twitch  Sounds like it's worth you pursuing the tests.
