I want to add that asymmetric brisk reflexes can also be OK, according to my neuro. What's also important is progression over time. You can get brisk reflexes from minor nerve damage in your spine (normal aging!) and from any number of other things. Symmetric brisk reflexes are, as others have pointed out, typically normal. Isolated brisk reflexes can also be normal, particularly if they don't change over time.
My left ankle reflex is slightly more active than my other reflexes, but hasn't changed much in six months. My other reflexes are calmed down somewhat over the same six months. Conclusion: there's almost certainly nothing serious going on (though I did have an EMG in both legs six months ago—nothing of note in my left leg, which had brisker reflexes).
