Tripper, I've responded to a bunch of your posts. And mate you sure do have it bad! I can help thinking that a lot of these symptoms are bought on or made worse by your anxiety. If the anxiety is bad, and I know this for a fact, the symptoms will increase by 10 fold, guaranteed! Are you taking anything for you anxiety?? If not maybe you should be. Lexapro has helped me heaps in this area. Also a visit to a clinical phsycologist may also be in order, to talk about this stuff. Just talking about it can help heaps. Buddy we have all been there, and I still go there on occcasion, second guessing every 'changing' symptom. You have had your BFS longer than me, so if you are thinking anything nasty, very unlikley. Sounds like you seriously need to go on a holiday as well to, and as someone said recently 'chill the F**K out'take care mate, I do sympathisecheersRodger

Tripper... I also think alot of your symptoms are from anxiety. You have got to calm down!!!!!!!!!!! I know you have had alot of tests done right? What exactly have the doctors told you? Let's start there...

Tripper,Have you been tested for other things besides A word that could cause such strange symptoms: such as heavy metal poisoning (copper mercury lead etc), organophosphate poisoning, Lyme, severe mineral deficiencies, HIV and Syph, CK levels, have you had an MRI of your head? Absurd as it may sound (esp. HIV and syph) these were all the things my doctor and neuro did as well as EMG to determine that my twitches were benign.

My tests have been as followsLymeANA for lupus and other auto immuneThyroidB-12full blood work CBC X2HivSyphillisHep CMagnisiumMri with and without contrastchest x rayemg X2NCVCT scans X2full dialated eye examclinical neuro examsPrimary care examsDiabetesall tests are completely normal

Ok Tripper... what do all those tests tell you? That you are fine. Yes, you have twitching but it is benign. All of us here have twitching some for many, many years. You have to try to get past it. Is there a reason you don't believe your doctors or the tests? I know how you feel I have been there but after awhile you just have to try to move on. You will get there. I promise. I just want to ask you... what do you believe it wrong with you? Do you still think it's ALS? Is that what you are still so afraid of?

Tripper,I totally empathize with your post. I can only say you are not alone. I get the same bodywide fasciculations you described and I get them daily in all areas you mentioned. By my active participation on this board, you know that this concerns me. I also have weird tongue sensations and buzzing, etc. I have found relief from exercising regularly, trying to remember that no one has guarantees in life and my "unexplained symptoms" are just another bit of uncertainty that I have to deal with but lots of things in life are uncertain. I also take .5mgs of Klonopin a day. I hope you are continuing to live your life despite this ordeal. Sometimes some of us are even though it appears we are not given the content of our posts. It is nice to have this outlet and only those that experience this can fully understand.Krackersones

yeah I guess my main fear is AL# or finding out that these symptoms are from something that is going to cut my life short thats my main fear :(

This is true mario ...and to all you guys out there I really dont want to keep worrying and fretting over all this stuff but cant help it as much as I would like to I take Klonopin and it helps but i need a counseler for sure or something

I know you fear you have ALS but fear equals anxiety equals your body producing symptoms of an overstressed nervous system. Go and have a look at the symptoms of anxiety at and you will see that many of your symptoms are actually that of anxiety. I haven't gone back and looked through your previous posts but I'm assuming that you've been given the all clear. These physical symptoms are very good at leading us to believe that there is something seriously wrong which in turn creates more fear and then more symptoms. It's a vicious cycle but you have to break that fear/heightened symptoms/more fear and so on cycle. You can do that but it just takes time.

Tripper... can I ask you what exactly your neurologists have told you? Did they say BFS or did they give you the idea that it was something else? I want to tell you that I also wonder what is causing this. I think about it everyday. It drives me crazy not knowing. However.... my doctors are not concerned and after 14 months nothing has changed. I finally told myself to stop worrying that it's something bad. Also, just reading the posts on this board saved me. I know I'm not alone. You have hyperexciting nerves but it won't kill you. Like Krackersones said, there are no guarantees in life. About a month ago I knew this guy who was 27 and dropped dead of a heart attack in the shower. You just never know so go and live and just tell yourself that you twitch and they won't kill you. Maybe you should talk to someone. Have you told your doctor how scared you are? Maybe they can refer you to someone who can help.

Tripper i think you have a bit to go on. As Mario and others have said, I think sorting the anxiety will help sort a LOT of what you have. And perhaps some more/other? medication for the twitching and also the anxiety. And lastly talking to a professional, your GP maybe, if you cant afford a professional. You at least have this board to talk about everything (thank god), to others that can perhaps relate somwewhat. With all the testing you have done, much more than me, all negative for nasties so its seems, surely that must be reassuring. Mate we can only suggest , it is up to you to take the action...Lastly, and this might be totally left field here. I have done a little welding in my time ( mainly arc). I am guessing that is your profession. Is it possible that some of what you are getting is perhaps a result of perhaps what you are breathing in (toxic fumes???) as a result of the welding? Just a punt...... cheersRodger

Hi barbie yes I have told them ...they want me to see someone but I dont have the funds right now ....I am diagnosed with BFS with parastesha or however ya spell that word ...the neuro wants to see me this summer to test my reflexes again and stuff ....she told me the last time I seen her what disease can I tell you you dont have now and that I am really strong....

ones_MJonesy - I checked out that site . Looks interesting, but one thing that looks bogus are their testimonials. Many (if not all) of the pictures of the people giving testimonials are either stock photopraphy (Getty Images mostly) or ripped from other web sites. The guy, "T.S., Canada" was a picture of a guy on an Australian Autism site!I guess the owners of anxietycentre.com don't know (or don't care) of the existence of . It's a site that lets you put in an image and it tells you if that image appears anywhere else, even (within reason) if the image was modified. In this case, it was able to find most of their "testimonial" people's pictures even though they were cropped.I hope they're on the up and up and not just giving out fake testimonials.

You know I would not be surprised my friend if welding and painting are a part of if not the whole culprit of this thing I wish I knew and could prove it because I would be rich lol
