BFS vs Other Disease Twitches?

I've googled ninety jillion times, and even searched this site, and the other more scary disease site and have not found a great answer. Is there a difference between the twitches from BFS and the ones from other diseases?Weirdest thing, I had about two days in a row last week where I barely noticed any twitching but then lo and behold they are back again! This makes two full weeks with only two days being less twitchy. I dont have widespread twitches like everyone else here talks about - they are settled in my calves, arches of my feet and ankles. Never in my arms, face etc.So does that matter? I go to the neuro on Friday but I'm just super stressed that he's going to say something I'm not prepared to hear! The twitches on the outside of my foot make my toes move! What will the neurologist do? How can I be sure he's doing everything needed? And WHY did these stoopid things come out of nowhere? Why cant I have normal twitching like everyone here talks about instead of the ones always in my legs.Does it matter that they mostly only happen while sitting or laying?Does it matter that I can see and nt feel some, while I can feel and not see others?Does it matter that they are little reppetitive twitches? My ten year old gets tickled watching me twitch... she diagnosed me with having "metro-twitchy-i-otis"

blee,i think almost every twitcher would say that they feel more twitching when relaxed, but even twitching in tensed muscles is not uncommon.it is like arron says in "bfs in a nutshell", it doesn´t matter where you twitch or how, it is all part of bfs. i had all the twitches you described, on some days many, few on other days- every time i thought that they were gone they came back... don´t know why! there are many theories around here about the cause of bfs, i think there are different causes like there are different causes for e.g. fever. the cause might be different but symptom is the same, also treatment is often not the same for everyone.(bfs is neither as common as fever nor are there a lot of treatments...everybody has to find out hinself what influences his bfs, one thing all people here would agree is that stress and anxiety make it worse)i´ll keep my fingers crossed for your neuro exam, be prepared to hear that you have bfs :) , you´ll be fine!!!!!

Blee, I might have mentioned this in a previous reply to your first post. BFS affects us all differently and there is variation on what we as individually might experience on a daily/weekly or even hourly time frame. What you are describing, in my mind is all about BFS. I have had all these symptoms plus some more. Legs ( calves) were my first and still most most common area of twitching. Some I cannot see but feel , and yep repetative is also classic BFS. Good luck with the neuro, I amsure it will be all fine.cheersRodger

Blee...my twitches came out of nowhere. I was fine one day, then twitching the next. I have twitches everywhere even inside my ear! Some days I have 5,000 and other days it's 100. There is no ryhme or reason for any of it. The neurologists just don't know what causes it. They will tell you that but it is benign. When you go the doctor on Friday and he tells you that you are fine my very best advice is to believe him and just accept it. If you don't, you will drive yourself insane and head down a very dark road (I know because I have been there). I know you are new to this and that is the hardest part of this. As time goes on it gets easier and after awhile you find you just don't care about some bengin twitches anymore. Hang in there. You are going to be fine. Also, my toes move on their own also. ~Leslie
