BFS Sufferer & Running Pain

I'm curious as to any other BFS sufferers experience problems with running. 5 years ago I could easily run a mile in under 10 minutes, but now as I try to push myself through various aerobic exercises such as running I notice significant differences. For example, now when I run I cannot run for very far before my ankles begin to hurt with rather extreme pain, and when I attempt to sprint for a short distance I am about twice as slow as I was 1 year ago. Now my time for 1 mile is a hideous 13 mins, and my 100 meter sprint is about 28 seconds.... When running I get the sensation that I am not able lift my legs as high and keep a large stride like I used too, but I am not sure whether this is due to stiffness, weakness or perhaps both.I've had an EMG that came back with only fasciculations, and was told I do not have ALS by a an ALS specialist. But regardless these problems with running/brisk walking have me worried. I'm not overweight and have only put on a few pounds since I was last able to run/sprint quickly (before the BFS-like symptoms).Have any of you experienced considerable changes in your ability to run or walk very briskly since you started having BFS symptoms?

How long have you been dealing with this? I'm almost 11 months in...I've been having pain this week, pretty bad. Feels like I'm on the verge of a cramp that (thankfully) doesn't come. I haven't been exercising like I should be. I've been depressed the past few months and it affected my work outs. Prior to that, even with the BFS, I think I was okay. Halfway though this, I got bad twitches when I hit the elliptical too long.So it's been 3 months since I've worked out. I went for a 3 mile walk yesterday in 105 degree heat. Ummm, not good. I'm sore, I'm in pain, it's awful. Honestly, it has me worried. But what am I gonna do, go back for another EMG? No, me no wanna do dat  During the walk, my heels were hurting, my soles, up the front of legs below my knee (whatever that's called), my calves, everything. This morning I woke up and felt like a 80 year old woman. This sucks. I just want to be normal. What I wouldn't give to be normal again...

I've been having muscle symptoms for a little over 3 months. For me I don't have so much problem with pain after exercise, but during it. Your pain that persists after exercise sounds like common fatigue to me, anyone going for a 3 mile walk after a long period of inactivity would likely have some fatigue (amplified by 105 degrees in your case). With the pain you had during your walk, is it something you had ever experienced prior to BFS?
