BFS: Not Causing Pain?

Jenn-if BFS doesn't cause pain then all of us are imagining a whole heck of a lot of stuff!

So, I'll do the same as I did on Troy's post...Jenn, Jenn,Jenn- you know you are totally well and you're my buddy in the whole shaking when waking up thing etc.. etc...our's just started a little differently. At first I thought my BFS started with the twitching (that's why I say I've had it 8 months) but in reality, I'm sure the shakiness, internal vibrations, pins & needles, numbness that I had prior was all just BFS getting started. So, that means I've had it for hmmm...3 years- I'M A VETERAN- whoopie!

Why get needles stuck in you when you don't need too?

;)

Hi Gary,
I just noticed your response.
You are right, I should have worded that more carefully, sorry.
Thanks for correcting me. :D)

Jenn, I don't know what to tell you. If it makes you feel better, go back to a neurologist.

If your neuro exam was normal, and you aren't getting weaker, I'm not sure why you would be so concerned about this, but you don't seem to be able to let it go, so do whatever it takes to make peace with your symptoms.

If you were given a BFS diagnosis, though I would run with it. Your symptoms are very consistent with bfs.

Blessings,
Sue

Jenn,
I have a friend who's dad was recently diagnosed with ALS...it is nothing like what we describe in this forum. But I also have a student who's dad was diagnosed with multi focal neuropathy....maybe something some of us might have. Not fatal but mimics ALS and is easily diagnosed. It's the first I had ever heard of this...
Good luck,
Amy

Hi Jenn,

I just noticed your post - did you not have the "shocking" part of your EMG test done? I would go for a second test to set your mind at ease and have that done if you haven't done so. I've been for two EMG's now and both times, I felt a lot better afterward hearing the word "benign" although my mind wanders away from it all a few weeks after the tests. There's always that uncertainty there...

God Bless, Mark
