BFS: Not ALS - OCD

Sara Jo,

You don't have als. There is a vicious loop we can enter into with this stuff - it's ocd. Anxiety, preoccupation, etc. are a way to divert the mind from what is truly painful. I am not saying your symptoms are not real - I'm sure they are but they are also magnified by the stress, lack of sleep, and fear. You have bfs and many doctors think it is tied to stress of which you have two tons.

I am a *huge* believer in prayer - even wrote a book about the love of Christ but I am also a believer in science and I have been in the darkness that you are living in. That said, I strongly urge you to find a great doctor who can really talk things out with you and prescribe meds that will ease your suffering until you are back to a firm position.

You are going to be okay. I know it's hard to believe but you are. Please don't let the darkness rule you. Communicate with us, communicate with a friend, anyone who will love you and listen. The worst part can be isolation so don't let that consume you!

i am praying for you tonight.

peace,
Mark

Hi Sara Jo,
Now may not be the best time to be making the huge descisions, not while you're so uncertain and distressed already. Take your time, focus on your health and get your personal anxiety reduced and eliminated. Let everything progress, and I think that you'll eventually understand everything for yourself, about what's the best thing for you. No matter what, eliminate your real enemy, called anxiety.

Maybe you should move in with someone in your family, for a little while. Not him.

Eric
