BFS: Breathing & Word Slurring?

Word slurring.....Interesting!

Reminds that when I used to have full-blown, body-wide BFS episodes:
--> my breathing would suddenly become extremely shallow and labored (as if my lung muscles were cramping, too) and
--> my speech was extremely labored, as well!

I never really thought about this though, afterwords, and I forgot to check here in the forum to see how often other folks experience these kinds of symptoms, so I'll be very interested in everyone else's feedback.

Thanks for your good question, TJ!

(Not sure I have had any of the blood rushing symptoms you describe. Never noticed.)

Why did my feedback scare you, TJ?? :( All I was suggesting was that I, too, have had BFS symptoms similar to yours (this was of interest to me), and that these symptoms have never been a serious problem!

In fact, I'm symptom-free now, and there are also other active threads in the forum right now that show others are having (or have had) similar BFS symptoms, as well:

All this is to say that what you've described sounds like yet one more of the many variations on the BFS theme that many of us have experienced, and I had hoped that would be reassuring to you -- not scarey! :crying:

My apologies if my shared interest came across in a negative way. I certainly never intended to add to your worry over all of this! And, I hope others will now be able to add more from their own experience...perhaps more artfully than I....

Are you sure your slurring is not anxiety based - I was convinced that I had this. Its surprising when you actually try and say the words correctly that they can come out wrong - but relax a little and it may be a bit better.

Try a couple of glasses of wine and see if it helps (if it does, then drink the rest of the bottle to see if it comes back!!) - you might find that relaxing a bit will make all the difference.

I hope that doesn't sound flippant - it worked for me!
