BFS and Tingling/Itching?

I don't tingle 24/7 and it's not like numbness, just like someone is tickling my face and other parts of my body with a feather here and there. I also have been experiencing itchiness all over my body, but have no actual skin problems. I have not been exposed ot anything new for this to be an allergy. I read in some posts that tingling and itching can accompany bfs. I also know that a few on this board have the same thing from time to time. I was just hoping that some could post their experience with this if any. Thank you.

I don't notice myself twitching very much anymore. Instead I vibrate. Maybe it means you (or me) is getting better.Or maybe it is a different season of BFS.-43RichyThe43rd

I have tingled too!! I actually thought it was a heart attack at one point. But, lately it hasn't been there as much.... I still think mine was from coming off prednisone...It sounds like part of BFS. Vibrating, tingling, twitching, itchy-feeling... felt it all.Andrea

i have all of this.Tingling, sun burn sensation, buzzing, vibrating, pins & needles, needle poked suddenly hard in my feet or elsewhere... etcIt's part of that crap.Obviously, if the path from brain to extremity is playing it's own "funny" game (just to say ...), why not the reverse path, i.e. sensation?

The tingling is probably caused by the same thing causing the twitching but the tingling is from the effect on the sensory nerves as opposed to the motor nerves. The only way I would think this is not the case is if the tingling is so subtle you have to think about it to feel it or you are not even sure whether you have always had it or not. I had three nerve conduction studies in a row and the third showed abnormalities (mostly severe ones) in all sensory nerves tested. This result floored me because the two prior tests and clinical exams showed no sensory nerve problems. I thought the test was wrong since at the time my main problem was twitching which is obviously not a sensory nerve issue. Soon after the abnormal sensory nerve test, I started to really notice severe tingling all over. I had this a bit before but it just did not even register since the twitching was what was so uncomfortable and what was freaking me out. It is so clear to me that in my case, something impacted my nerves and it effected both the sensory and motor simultaneously. I just happen to be more bothered by the twitching but the tingling is clearly there and definitely not normal. When my medication (Klonopin) wears off, I feel the tingling really intensely in my arms and legs and even stomach. In fact, I can be super busy and will get the tingling and then remember that I forgot to take my second daily dose of medication. Krackersones

EMG studies are very difficult to interpretate. Some diaseases show a clear EMG but in BFS the EMG test does not show definitive signs and varies by the time. This is the reason I prefer not to go on this test. I know i will have few of them without clear diagnosis. I feel twitching all over and tingling and other sensory symtoms. I do not feel worry of terrible diseases anymore. I can have my symptoms for ages, so I try to manage them. I took Propranolol and it worked in some degree for twitching. Currently, I am on gabapentin and twitching has improved about 70% (I take 900 mg daily). Sensory sensations (tingling) has not improved. My shoulder pain has subsided. I think i can cope with the degree of twitching i have with this low dosis of gabapentin and not side effects.
