BFS and Anxiety: Therapy Helpful?

I've noticed how many people believe that stress and/or anxiety contribute to their BFS symptoms. Wondering if any of you have found counseling or therapy helpful. I never really had an anxiety problem before BFS, but I certainly developed one when I started all this weird twitching. I tried xanax but I'm not really a medication person (I think it is fine and appropriate to take medication for anxiety and helpful to many...it just didn't sit well with me personally)...So, I have been going to a therapist and it's really, really helpful...we're not doing psychoanalysis or anything...we're just working on practical ways and strategies to deal with stress and anxiety...It's helping me a lot. Seems like there's not a whole lot one can do about the twitching/cramping, so I figure I might as well go after the associated anxiety...

Out of my mind: Right on! I couldn't agree with you more. There really is nothing that can be done about the twitching. If you can't accept a benign diagnosis and CHOOSE to keep second-guessing, worrying and/or pumping yourself full of various supplements, the worse it becomes. The REAL issue is learning to manage your anxiety. Once you've got that licked, there is no turning back.

Good health to you.
