ahhh I posted this also not to long back..I think you can find it under questions on communityn..We do have PNH pretty much..that is why I do not think BFS is just some strange thing..I believe it is are peripheral nerves that got infected, just like someone with diabetes, instead of neuropahty we have BFS..Mark please do not worry, are muscles are hyper and our nerves, but it is benign, it is a pain in butt that is all..this is the one question i wished I asked to the Dr..I will because the other Dr. will be calling me to go over my EMG on phone..I will ask him this question..writing it down now so wont forget..I expect a phone call on thursday because he does his calls on those days..This is nothing PHN just means are muscles and nerves are excited..really no biggy and do notttt read about this on internet..jenn

During an EMG test very often nothing will be found, I had 3 in quick succession before they picked up the pattern of discharges that denoted my diagnosis of NMT. The reason they found nothing on the first 2 was simply down to the fact that the muscle was at rest and in this state no activity should be observed.

Therefore, if no involuntary signals that PNH produces are transmitted during the test procedure, then nothing will be found.

The NCV test is often performed at the same time as the EMG and this test looks for potential nerve damage by measuring the speed of a signal as it travels along the nerve. Your Dr must have had some reason for not performing it so I wouldn't worry about it, after all, if he's not worried - why should you be.

Ahhh, Stevepaul,,,

When I saw the title of this post, I was going to refer the poster to your pm box!

Glad to see you beat me to it.

Hope you finally took the dogs for a walk.
