GuysAnyone noticed that their balance is affected? I have noticed that sometimes when I turn round, I get a little bit unbalanced...I also have this wierd weak feeling throughout my body and painin my legs, burning sensation in soles of feet etc...Waiting to see my neuro again...

Me too - doesn't it just bite? I said this before in a post but here goes - my neuro said that when the muscles get overly tight in the neck, shoulder and upper back (especially where they attach at the back of the skull) they press the nerves and cause nausea and balance problems. When asked to explain he said "there are lots of nausea receptors in the neck as it has to do with our equilibrium sensing". The weak feeling - if your muscles & nerves are not shutting down, if you are not sleeping well - yeah, it's like staying up all night again and again. See if your neuro can help you with sleeping - sometimes their weird drugs actually do something positive.I can't stand it.

In my first year I had real balance issues, walking into door jambs, tripping over things, anytime I turned my head and turned it back it would take a few seconds to focus, it was real bad for a while. It has pretty much gone away, I chalked it to anxiety over my BFS symptoms.

I've had plenty of balance issues. They come and go. I don't worry about them. Like Tom and others said above, I chalk up it to muscle tightness and fatigue in my neck. There are a lot of weird nerves and other balance receptors that go through there. My neurologist essentially said the exact same thing as the above neuro said.

Yes, I also had balance issues in the beginning which really scared me. I wasn't exactly dizzy but I was definitely a bit off balance. I remember from previous posts that many people seem to have this symptom.

Hello everybody. Im new in here, even though i have been dealing with BFS for about 2 years now. Anyway one of my biggest problems is being cloudy in my head and when i stand still og start walking or turning it feels like the floor is floating under me, a kind of chronic dissiness (Sorry im from Denmark so my writing English sucks!)... I cant stand still very long before this rubery feeling kicks in. Enyone familiare with this issue??? Christian
