Back Twitching: A Year Later

Hi, sorry to bother you all again ( :) Fox) but since yesterday I'm having a non stop twitching + crawling feelings in my back, near my shoulder blade. Ofcourse I went reading here trough old posts for back twitching. However I found one disturbing post that(and I guess Alonzo said) said that the rare cases of 1+ year twitching mostly are related to a back twitch and because this muscle is strong it lasts longer. So ofcourse my worry after 19 months is...could this be happening to me?

Those rare cases you like to read about didnt go to neuro all the time and got a free bill of health. But you never stop reading horror-stories on the net and therefore youll never get any better. Why dont you understand what im saying to you? STOP reading the internet REGARDING whatever symptoms you may have. Go to your doctor or neuro if you have any questions about twitches. And trust them. Is it so hard? Now: get the hell out of here. I dont want to read anything from you the next month. Thats a *beep* order.

Even that rare case doesn't fit you because you haven't had twitches limited to the back. I have back twitches to every day. I also have the everywhere on my trunk area including my rib cage.

Because they are really constant now , I don't know but it just frightens me that it is happening in my left back at one certain place ...and it keeps twitching (but not hard) + my left hand is tingling

Are you still here? OKRead "bfs in a nutshell" once again please. It says something like "It isnt a bad sign if fascikulations are continous in one spot". But I guess you dont care about that? Or what the experts are saying? Or that you are only complaining about some twitches? If you had a deadly disease, were you only complaining about some twitches in the back? No. And certainly not after 19 months. But you dont listen. No, no, no. Why dont you read your own "back from neuro" article once again. It was excellent. Trust the santa guy. Please. Imagine that this guy who has seen like 1000s of ALS-cases really DID know what he was talking about. He was right and deep down in your self, you know it. Somehow we need to get this feeling up and forward but that is not something the internet can do. Only some proffessionel or family-help can do that. REAL persons in REAL life. Not this mumbo-jumbo internet stuff. Here is what you have to do:1) talk to your family-doctor about your fear2) do what he tell you to: medicine, psycological help, therapy of some kind3) trust the doctors and follow their lead. You are NOT in control of yourself right now. You need help from REAL people4) AND: Stay off the internet. Stay off the internet. Stay off the internet. Stay off the internet. Stay off the internet. Bart,I have a question for you. If someone could accurately guarantee you that your symptoms would never get worse than they are now for the next 70 years, would you be able to live a comfortable and quality life? I ask this because I have some of the same symptoms you have described, including long bouts of back twitches, torso twitches, body tingling, tongue zaps, internal vibrations, etc.. These symptoms in and of themselves have pushed me to Klonopin which has brought some relief. My symptoms are as severe a problem as the worry about what is causing them and where they are leading. You need to be clear with yourself about the boat you are in. If your symptoms alone aren't interfering with your life and the problem is only anxiety, you must realize that the reassurance you seek is not available and is not available to anyone in the world. We are all human and subject to health problems that are out of our control. We all have to learn to keep that fact in proper perspective by doing what is reasonable to care for ourselves but otherwise enjoy the hear and now and deal with problems as they come rather than anticipating them. The choices are constant worry, fear, and misery and living in the moment with reasonable precautions. There is no better third choice so we must pick between the two available. If your symptoms are causing misery apart from anxiety, then you should actively work with your doctors to find some relief. Maybe a reduction in your symptoms will help with the anxiety since it will allow you to focus on other things and get better sleep. This is what it did for me.Krackersones

Wonderful post Krackersones! I couldn't have said it any better. Bart, are you any anxiety medication? If not , you should get some. It really does help. I know the fear can take over sometimes but you have to try to deal with and take everyones advice and stop reading the internet. I swore myself never to go to an ALS site again. This is the only site I go to. I found when I go searching the internet I would feel sick and be in tears. Since I have stopped that I feel much better. Yes, my twitches scare the hell out me but since I have seen a neurologist and had a clean EMG I constantly repeat that to myself over & over when the fear takes over. Hang it there Bart cause you are not alone. Remember that.
