Back Pain and ALS: Freaking Out!

So about a week or so ago, my back started to really hurt. From the bottom of my shoulder blades down to my lower back. I came on here to see how many others have that and find out that someone was dx'd with ALS whose only symptom was back pain. Now I am FREAKING out again. I called my neuro and left a msg to call me back to get some closure on this, but am wondering if any of you can enlighten me before then. Do any of you get this really bad back pain with BFS? On a pain scale of 1-10 it's probably a 7 or so and does not get better with ANY pain medicine, even Vicodin. I would really like to hear back from some of you....Thanks, Shauna

Back pain is a big issue for me, there are days I can hardly get up from a chair, and when I make it up, I have stand and straighten for about 30 seconds before I can walk. It is like this most of the time, but somedays for whatever reason it is tolerable. I am with you that pain medication is not all that helpful. Since I have been told 5!!! times I do not have ALS, it is safe to say this is a BFS symptom for me, and for you.
