Back from Break - Anxiety Update

Hey everyone-I just want to say im back! LOL! I took about a month or more break to work on my house and rental property (not good). Here is an update! So im sure I have talked to many of you many times and I try to offer hope seeing as how I went through all the EXTREME anxiety (really I don't have a word for it). I had all the twitches, cramps, tremors and feelings of weakness for about two and a half years now (maybe longer). I worked hard to distract myself from the twitches and other bad symptoms every day. I wish I had a "twitch counter" over the years because I was twitching every second of every day non stop. I worked to get a hobby and stay busy and have fun and get out and enjoy life. Gradually I have noticed to twitches calm down. Both of my neuros said that they had patients that average maybe 2-3 years and then they calm down (but can stay for a lifetime). So I know its horrible but you guys have to hang in there. There is a better day ahead and all of us that went to a neuro need to trust our doctors as they are doing their job correctly. They didnt miss anything and we should try to trust them more.So my twitches now are down to some days I have NONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Other days when I am stressed or getting sick I might have 5-10 all day but thats it. Just back this past January I was starting to get a grip on my fear and hoped that a day like this would come. You all just have to hang in there. Trust your doctors and get out and live life and do things you always wanted to do. Spend time with family and friends and do something new! The best advice I could give is for you to engage in something that consumes your time, so you dont have time to sit around and think about "oh there is a twitch, no wait there is another" because you only increase your anxiety. Mine WERE NOT driven by anxiety. Mine clearly arose from when I was in one of the best periods of my life. So get out there and have some fun! I will always be here on the board and even though I might take some breaks I will always be here for you guys. Im glad to be back. Sean B.

Good Post Sean. Almost mirrored what i did and its the best approach to overcome this illness. A new outdoor hobby and a list of jobs to do everyday, eat a more healthy nutrious diet, gentle exercise and breathing exercises have helped me tremendously. :D) My biggest problem now is there's not enough hours in the day :( ATB

Thanks Sean: It is very good to hear a positive bit of news. I am having ups and downs so I needed to hear this.Glad to know you'll be there for us.Cindy

Hi Sean,Thank you very much for your encouragement and your words of wisdom. It is great for me to know that things will get better. Do you still experience the fatigue from BFS or it is no longer there as well.Daniel

Rocketman-Yeah the fatigue in my limbs still happens from time to time. My right arm and left leg sometimes feel like lead weights. Also my thumb pads burn if I write or do any sort of text messaging or using a screw driver. My cramps are WAY down...there for a while if I used my hand it would cramp up and I would have SEVERE ab cramps. Things are so much better now. I just wish I could re assure everyone that its a LONG road but you will reach the end of it. BFS is so hard on all of us, and each of us have different sypmtoms. But down the road it will be looked at as an experience and something we can be thankful for as weird as that sounds. We all have been to the edge of sanity and back and that gives me a much better appreciation for what I have in life.Sean B.
