Hi again!
I've been twiching for about 10 weeks now. Had a clean EMG TWO weeks into twiching (on the bad days I think it must have been too early...), and had a strangling feelin in my throat for about 6 weeks, but now it's finally almost gone.
The twiches, however, are still here - as strong as ever. I have a few twiches here and there, mainly on my knees and legs but also occasionally in the upper part of the body and the arms.
My latest worry is this extremely persistant twich on my right hand (I'm left-handed). It's been there for 8 days now. It's situated on the outer edge of the palm, halfway between the wrist and where the little finger ends. The muscle keeps contracting and it often sticks to its contracted position for a FEW seconds then lets go and does this 5-20 times in a row. Then a pause of a minute or two - or less - and there we go again! I keep testing my little finger and my hands for strength and luckily haven't noticed any loss of strength so far...
I read the earlier posts and know this is what is called a hot spot. What worries me is mine going on for so long and that the muscle contracts for such a long time - the intervals are much longer than in my other fasciculations. I' m getting all of these thoughts again of ALS beginning in the hands, of "relentless" fasciculation" of muscle tissue dying...
I'd be glad to hear if any of you have had the same type of experience...
