ASA: Random High ANA Tests?

Hello all, related to this autoimmune theory..has anyone had there ANA checked lately?? i had a random test about 2 years ago where my ANA was found to be very high? (went back to normal on second test 3 months later)..i keep coming across people who mention that theirs was also high? if i get any responses to this that suggest there is a correlation im off to get my ANA tested for again. and i think we all should (worth a try at least)

I have had my ANA levels and more specific auto antibody test done several times. Always well within normal range. BCFS/BFS is autoimmune. ANA is not sensitive enough to seek those links out. Calcium-Potassium check is much better for what you seek. So your test comes back positive then what? No cure just sxs treatment. Sorry but this topic has been covered many times over. Don't stress over it. What can we do anyways? Don't waste you money any more! :)

Hi Mookza...BFS symptoms can be related to autoimmune thyroid disease...hashimotos. I and several others of us on the group have it. It is tested with a TPO bloodtest. But, as the other posters said, so what? lol. Even if you test postive for this, you can treat the thyroid issues, but there is still no treatment for the BFS. Try not to worry and hit those books!Linda

haha thanks guys i know but how bloody frustrating!! im so mentally exhausted- havnt been myself lately AT ALL. im waiting for the day to wake up and everything will be back as to 'normal' (and still so scared of the opposite). its extremely hard to focus on studying without getting those negative thoughts in my head. im seeing a psychologist and on (very very low dose) valium to ease anxiety and it seems to be helping and next week i have my first EFT appointment next week and am very much looking forward to it. 10 days until my first exam and here i am researching bfs. thanks for your help guys!

i had mine tested only once it was1:1280!! but 4 months later was back to negative? if the initial test was a lab error its quite a massive one! never had any other symptoms except episcleritis (red eye)
