Arm Pain: Heavy, Achy, Excruciating

Well for the last week or so, my right arm has been very heavy. Even brushing my teeth makes my arm ache and feels like I am lifting a ton of weight.I get pain in my shoulder, down to my thumb. My forearm gets excruciating pain but even typing this is making my should ache!!!Why does my arm feel really really heavy, my legs feel like jelly etc.I know ALS can make the big muscles weak first...so shoulders, buttocks etc, and I am worried that since the EMG \ NCS was not done in my right arm, that they have missed it!!!!!AND...I have put on 5KG...FFS.....I is getting FAT!!!
 
The good news is, your getting fat! :LOL: Seriously. If you had some dreaded muscle wasting disease, you would lose weight. When this all started, I lost a few pounds and, of course, it made me panic. Since I've gotten the anxiety under control, I've gained 5 lbs. It's funny. Now, I would like to get rid of that 5. When I lose it, I'll be worried there is something wrong with me. Yes. I'm slighly nuts!
 
Oh my...Angus, I'm going to keep saying this to you until you listen to me. ;) The "weakness" you feel is caused by your anxiety over all of this. I do not beleive that EVERYONE's BFS symptoms are aggrevated by anxiety, but alot of people's are...you are one of those people. I for example, have almost zero anxiety over any of this, I am one of the lucky ones I guess...but, I still have all of my BFS symptoms, and they still come and go and they still change and I still get flareups and everything else. Your arm issues are classic anxiety symptoms...if you dont believe me, go to an anxiety forum and ask...I know what their answer will be.Oh, and you dont look even close to fat to me. *smiles sweetly*Oh, and I thought I was the only one who said FFS!! ;) ~*~Amy~*~
 
I admittedly have a love of profanity, so not surprisingly, the rest are quite familiar to me. I am, however, surprised I don't use the wonderfully expressive "FFS" more often. I must add it to my repertoire. ;)
 
I use all of those terms...but FFS, or OFFS (I actually use this one more I think) is by far my favorite!! People around here laugh at me when I say it...it just isnt something you hear often in my area. I think I could have a whole conversation with acronyms!~*~Amy~*~
 
I like OFFS even better. I wish I used acronyms! I just come out with the whole thing! Oh and Angus. My dad served his time in the military and so did my husband. I'm practically impossible to offend as far as profanity is concerned.
 
Is there any better word of profanity than the f word? It works well in any sentence and just yelling it can be such a stress reliever. I miss the days pre-kids of unfurling a string of a 10 or 11 straight perfectly connected curse words. I could induce awe on a golf course not by hitting the ball but by the string of tourette's like cursing that I could produce after it a terrible shot. In fact, I think having to quit cursing is what brought on my anxiety and bfs. Forget rusty screws, glue/paste, mercury fillings, pesticides, it HAS to be the lack of cursing. I'm lifting my cursing ban to help my BFS. F*&^ it! I don't give a sh*t if the 5 year old starts dropping f bombs! BFS stands for Bull F&^%^$ S&*t! I think I'm cured.
 
By jove, I think you may be onto something. *beep*, bugger and damnit!! Cursing is a spiffing idea and by jove I aim to do it all the time.BFS...you are a bounder and a cad and I banish you to hell...you dog of darkness you....I feel so much better.... ;)
 
Well, I went cycling on Sunday, for the first time in years. I did about 5 miles round our local lake, then cycled home.I was completely shagged when I got it (Not literally, unfortunately...) but it was worth it.I plan to do more when work permits...Stay Well guys...
 
A long time ago in a galaxy far far away, way before BFS I had major anxiety issues. I can tell you that at 14 I played football on our high schools varsity team and I was only a freshman. I could beat up 30 year old men without hesitation. The anxiety kicked in right around 15 for me and at one point I could not even do 10 pushups. I would chase my dog if he got out and would collapse by the neighbors house. My legs litterally gave out on me. This was all anxiety. I didn't even know what the hell a neuromuscular disorder was. ANXIETY CAN CAUSE WEAKNESS.
