Are My Calf Muscles Too Skinny?

Hi,

About the calf muscles, thats where I'm fixated at the moment, I am sure mine are flatter, and I must look like a complete twit because I seem to go around checking out other peoples calf muscles to see if they are as skinny as mine. But.. I have boots and they still fit me perfectly in the same way they always did!, so... I dunno. Mine are both the same size but that doesn't make me feel any better because my aching and twitching are in both legs!!.

Hey Shelley,

My calf is also 1/2 inch smaller than the other.

I constantly look at peoples legs. It's getting harder now to stalk people because the weather isn't as hot. LOL They must think I'm a wierdo.

I asked each neuro to look at them everytime I went. They barely glance and say noone is perfect. I guess that's just what I have to go with.
I went so far as to take digital pics of my legs so I could really see what everyone else sees. I also went through old photos, of myself, to see if there was a difference before all this crap started.
(Never found one by the way)

See all the whacky things we do to ourselves. No wonder we're twitching. :D)

Hi. My right calf is at least an inch smaller in diameter than my left calf and noticeably so. But this is the only thing I haven't allowed myself to worry about because I always remember having one calf smaller than the other, as far back as 6 years. But both as strong as each other.

Shelley,

My left calf is shorter yet thicker than my right. Early on, I had always focused on the left calf's shortness thinking the area below where the muscle ended had atrophied. Both my GP and 2 neuros all pointed out that the left calf I was so concerned about was actually the larger one but both were normal. Since then I've become more concerned about the right one. LOL. Goes to show you we are our own worst enemies.

In any event, I've since learned that if there was a real problem, weakness would precede any atrophy. So stop worrying.

Phil
