Anxiety Stabilized - Do I Venture On?

After 4 months of anxiety I was - I can say - stabilized. Im not so anxious I used to be and my twitches are 1-5 per hour.

I showed my neuro video of my twitching and he looks very "worry" and sent me immediately to specialist for motor neuron diseases.

*beep* I cant undergo it all again, the anxious waiting, the fear.. Im not decided yet but probably I dont want to go there. It wont change anything...

Strange... Didn't he know about the "large twitches" you described (whatever that means). How do they look like?

I thought a neurologist is a specialist for motoneuron diseases... But he sent you to another one just because of the "look" of the twitches? Mine told me you couldn't tell anything just by seeing a twitch, no matter how it looks like.

EMG already done?

Yes I had clean EMG. The large twitches are that there is no fascis (no "string" is twitching) but large part of muscle. I know its not typicall for ALS and maybe people here call it "big thumpers"?

No, he sent me there because he had never seen my fascics so probably didnt believe I really have it..

Strings = Tendons? So it really "moves" something...? I think this is still nothing untypical. Just a chainreaction of small areas.

Forget about ALS anyway. I was sent to another specialist, too yesterday. But for some other reasons (posted it some minutes ago). There are many other f+++ing diseases... Not as "final" as ALS for sure but still some are serious. I am not scared of ALS but of other things.

It doesnt move my muscle completely but I can see strong twitch with no borders - I dont know if you understand me (silly language limits). When I have twitching on my shoulders I can clearly see what is twitching. But here I cant, its large and the whole area shakes. Only after stretching.

I found out many of my twitches (especially on the neck) can be recruited by stretching for the first time. Like it teases them. For the second time its OK.

Where are you from? Either you are up very early or you're from Europe, too ;)

But ok, I think I understand your muscle-phenomenon now. Let them check it, what else can you do...? If you don't you will increase your anxiety. Better to know what it is NOT than not knowing anything at all.

Im from Europe, Czech republic :)

I think I wont go there - ALS twitches doesnt look like this (afaik) and I dont have any other fasciculation than random ones and even these I have more after excersising.

I was more anxious if I would prepare for going there..

Had,

What was he particularly concerned with, was this a neuro. I think you should go and get the final okay from a specialist to help ease your mind. You worry a lot, I don't think you will be settled until you go.

If you have a video, why don't you put it on here, so we can see it, But honestly how you described your twitches, they are very occassional and not frequent...I am sure alot of us have worst twitches than you.

Good luck

Terri
