ANA Results: Titer Change?

I have recently had bloodwork done to compare to bloodwork doneabout 4 months ago. My ANA titer has risen from 1:320 to 1:640. It also showed homogenic and speckled, same as before. Just for curiousity sake, please tell me if you did or didnt have abnormal ANA results, and if so, what were your titer levels. Thanks

I have a physical coming up soon and was going to request some tests. Is ANA blood test something I should ask for? What does it look for? What are some other tests I should request? Thanks.

There are a lot of them. Ive had every blood test known to man I think. Some of the more experienced people can tell you what is considered a full work up. I know thyroid and ANA test are important ones. The ANA is really the only test that have come back abnormal for me. You would have to think there is a link due to the results.

My twitching started in late June/early July 08. I had an ANA titre of 1: 1000+ in September and 1:2000+ a few weeks later. I was told that these high titres along with other tests that have showed high levels of immune complexes are most likely pointing to a dysimmune type of neuropathy. Subsequent ANA tests have been normal but my immune complexes are always high when tested.

I too have a high ANA 1:320, speckled pattern, but neither my neurologist, nor a rhumetologist that I was referred to, believe that it has anything to do with the muscle twitching. Besides +ANA means very little unless you have other positive immune complexes along with it. If your doctor suspects that something immune is going on, they will test you for other anti-bodies. I get my antibodies checked by my rhumetologist once a year to make sure that I have no other positive ones.... the ANA always comes back positive, but that is it! They actually say a small majority of the population just has a high ANA for no reason...Don't worry too much about it unless your doctor thinks its a problem. I know its hard... I still feel like its this mysterious thing.
