ALS: Pain & Vibration?

I was gonna post this in a ALS forum, but i decided to just post it here, because people seem to be knowlegable about these subjects here. Plus i feel bad asking question to people who really have ALS, not some worried 22 year old. Question is, i have been having pain in my feet and arches? And it has been like a vibration feeling in my feet? I wasnt sure but i think i was told, pain and ALS most of the time dont go together unless the pain is with cramps. I have been doing a lot of calf raises lately and i am thinking maybe it could be related. I was wondering though, pain and vibration feelings in the arches of your feet, sound like ALS? Or just in general pain and aches and pains go hand in hand with ALS?

You're right not to worry about this. ALS does not cause the type of pain you describe and your symptoms sound totally uncharacteristic of ALS. All the bestSimon

Vibration/buzzing feelings are very common with BFS. If you do a quick search on this site you will find many posts where it is mentioned.Linda

Absolutely no need to be worried. As long as you don't have any clinical weakness that a) is spreading from lets say the toes to the calf, knee and thigh and b) doesn't get better at all, you can't have **S. And yes, you're right about the pain: **S-people usually only get pain when their muscles cramp. The nerve and muscle death itself does not produce any pain for some reason.Interesting... I have had that buzzing feeling in my thighs a couple of times, too. I wouldn't call it "cellphone buzzing", it rather feels like you have a purring cat on your lap o.O Maybe it was caused by the anxiety... I don't know.Ah yes, and speaking of pain: I have noticed something strange regarding my left foot... When I get up from bed, I very often have some sort of very slight pain in the foot, somewhere around the joint when I step on that foot. However, it wears off after maybe 20-30 seconds of walking and never returnes throughout the whole day. This happens much more often when I wake up and get out of bed immediately. If I lie around for 15 minutes or so before getting up, it usually doesn't happen. Actually I can't tell whether it already was there before my twitching onset or not, after all the pain is so slight that it isn't even disturbing. Does anyone have an idea what this might be?

You are 22...22 year olds don't get ALS.Not to mention your symptoms are not ALS symptoms at all. Many on here have pain or feel achy in their muscles. My arm has different forms of pain from dull fatigue to a very achy dead arm if I overdo it....but it gets better. One last piece of advice....don't ever go on an ALS/MS site again.

yea the worst thing you could do is going into and ALS forum and post. Because frankly i dont know what it feels like and the questions are too general, and there are so many other things that mirror ALS before jumping off the boat
