ALS: MND or Not?

Is ALS a 'MND'?I am in anti google mode right now, due to fear, and I see both terms used on here, but it is not clear to me if ALS is a MND or if MNDs are a different type of disease.Please forgive my ignorance!

MND stands for Motor Neuron Disease, it represents a group of diseases that effect motor neurons and are very similar in nature.ALS is the most common MND, I think it represents 90% of cases or something. It is also the worst one.In some countries such as Australia doctors don't say ALS, they just say MND.
