Advice on Random Twitching

Alright, any advice, or what you would do. Without going into a large background on myself. I started twitching 13 months ago (March 22, 2006) to be exact. Had 2 EMGs (supposingly normal) 3 neuros (all said no worry, benign)..I haven't developed any weakness or atrophy.

Just continue to have twitches all over, manly in calves, thumpers, then no so thumpers, hotspots, etc. You guys know the scenario.

Well my question is I am suppose to go back to the Neuro in June..Part of me says No, don't stop the doctor appts. and live with this and move on, if weakness and atrophy presents itself then go. But then the other says no, the neuro said to come back and touch base with him. I fear if I dont go I might miss something. But then If I do go when is this doctor merry go round will stop. Any advice will be appreciated.

Thanks in advance,
Terri

Hi Terri,

For me after I had a clean emg and mri, that was enough for me, but you have to get that peace of mind, so my suggestion is each of us have to do what is best for ourselfs! when this first came upon me I was out of my mind with fear, and yet my husband was like there is nothing wrong with you, and he didn't think I needed a Dr. but I had to to put my mind at ease. I still twitch all the time but it is no longer a worry and I hardley ever think about it :D)

Terri, I have been to 4 neuros and 2 movement disorder specialists over my 12 years with this. Same thing every time,BFS. I feel we must do whatever we need too, to help us deal with this disorder. If that means seeing a neuro every few years or so,So be it.

Thank you guys for all your advice. All your responses are so helpful and mean a lot...I don't know what I would have done if I didn't find this support forum.

Terri
