Advice for Overcoming Fear of ALS?

Dear Susan,

I am new here and have found this site to be amazing. It literally saved me. I am far from being completely over the fear but I feel I am on the road to recovery though.
I was wondering what it took with you to change your thoughts. I was also curious if you believed you still had als even after years went by? Had you seen docs and had all the tests and were you dx with bfs or came to the conclusion due to this site?

Just thought I'd pick your brain. Hope i'm not intruding.
It's nice to hear from someone who has been a member since 02 and is still going strong.

Sue,

Welcome back! I remember reading your posts when I first joined 2 1/2 years ago.

I, too, am a 24/7 calf twitcher and rovers elsewhere.

I'm so glad you checked in. Undoubtedly, your story makes all of us feel better.

Hope you stick around awhile!

Hello!

I'm so glad I was of some help to you! Oh my goodness, I remember the fear I felt when I first noticed my twitches. Nobody I knew experienced them, and when I looked into it (web etc.) it only made my fears worse.

I am sitting here now and feel my calves and arches twitching away. This all started in 2001! I have good days and twitchy days....still. Two days ago my bicep wouldn't stop twitching...it finally did and then moved to my rib area. My point is that BFS has a mind of it's own and it's just the way it is. Take your worries and enjoy our life...much easier said than done as I am the princess of worry. It is a real condition that is benign, but will scare the heck out of you until you are convinced you're really OK!

Hang in there.

Sue
