A Year of Unfortunate Twitching

In a month or so, I will be entering the year 7 a.t (after the twitching). This year has been probably the worst, which is not that good. Last month I was doing extremely good (combination of Keppra and Tegretol of very low dosages) but it all returned 6 days ago. Daily feeling the tongue twitches on the left side close to the middle..like small electric shocks, could see it. My arms are probably the worst, along with my abdomen. Do not get me wrong, I have no continous fasciculation. Just when I move too fast or stretch the muscle in an unusual way (like grabing my phone off the back seat while driving), it starts to twitch really bad. Sporadic ones too, of course.Surely I'm happy, 6 years ago I would not believe if someone told me I would make it this far. But on the other hand, the symptoms are worse (no cramping or sensations, though) which is not that nice.My doctor thinks it might be new motoric neuropathy discovered while ago but it is inherited (otherwise it would fit my profile perfectly)...so not sure and uncertain, but at least I do not have anxiety attacks anymore.Cheers,Docen

Docen,I'm so sorry to hear that your twitching has worsened. Although, when you say you don't have continuous fasciculations, I'm quite jealous. My calves I don't think have stopped for almost two years, yet - they have good days and bad days (today being a bad day when they are firing away at least once a minute).I'm even more sorry that after 6 years, that they still make you feel unhappy and you haven't accepted them as part of your life. Truly, I'm not there yet either; I felt for almost a year I was there - used to my twitching, and then a new symptom pops up and I start worrying once again. But, I hope for both of us - as time passes that we can accept them as part of our lives, because they may never go away. Here to year 7 being the year that twitching stops for you! Maybe TwitchBFS will find that magic remedy for us (where is he btw?).Mitra

Drink 36 ounces of Gatorade a day for 2 weeks, and tell me if anything improves.Just try it. Don't argue. -----Mitra -Im still here. When my regimen is in order, I have almost nothing left of BFS. My only challenge at this stage is spanking myself into sticking to the regimen. I'll post a thread here in a minute with an update.BFSB

I was really missing all your theories and your potential remedies, etc. Glad you're not gone forever BFSB!I would take on the gatorade challenge, but I don't want to consume all that sodium. There was just a study linking high sodium intake to autoimmune disorders. So, it concerns me a bit. Otherwise, I would definitely try it.Mitra

How are you feeling and what dose are you taking of the keppra and the tegretol? Have you gone up in dosage since you beren having worse syptoms?
