7 Years of Constant Twitching:My Story

Hi guys,I periodically drop in to say hello. I have been constantly twitching for almost 7 years. When I say constant I mean that literally...my calves and feet never ever have taken a break. My tongue has twitched. My inner ear. Scalp face chest stomach - literally everything. When this all started and for a couple of years thereafter I was convinced I was dying...it was a dark time.If you are new to the team rest assured that twitching (and yes apparently even the dreaded tongue) in and of itself is not going to kill you.You are all in my thoughts and prayers as I know how painful this is. If anyone has direct questions please feel free to I'm me.Be well,Mark

Mark,I really appreciate the veterans coming back to this site and telling their stories. I can't tell you how much I appreciate it. I'm only 5 months into this, and am hoping to have the same kind of peace of mind that you do, soon. It gets better for me every month that goes by.Thank you so much!Mitra

Great hearing from you, Mark! It's always great seeing a familiar name and you were someone who helped me greatly in my early days. Glad you're still around.Best,Sean

thanks mark...its always encouraging and reassuring to here from the veteran twitchers....ive been on this crazy rollercoaster for just over 8 months now with no break, so its great to hear of others who have been doing this for so long.....can i ask u a question...did u ever take anything for your anxiety?? an antidepressant or anything or did u just get used to the twitches and the anxiety calm down itself??....thanks shannon

ShannonI was incredibly depressed in the first year of this. In the first months i was convinced i had als and obsessed plus couldnt sleep. I eventually got to a very dark place. My wife made me go to a psychiatrist who prescribed remeron so i could sleep and zoloft or something to ease the anxiety. In time i felt better but the anxiety lasted a long long time - years not months. This was irrational fear of course. I wish i had those years back. Get help if you need it and listen to your doctors!!I was an idiot - after i saw a nuero my gp wrote dx - b9 fasciculations with parathesia. But i knew more by my online investigation. Turns out he was right...

Hi Mark,I've read some of your past posts and we have a lot of symptoms in common. I'm so glad you came back to tell us you're doing fine! It's so reassuring. Thank you so much and Merry Christmas to you! :D)
