7-Month Twitching: Is Weakness Likely?

Hi, I'm back again, actually never left. I am twitching more than I ever have in my 7 months of this *beep*. It's everywhere, and it's pretty *beep* constant. Don't know if anyone ever had hotspots for 7 months, but my calves and right tricep haven't stopped in that long. Wouldn't I have weakness by now if this was something serious. I feel fine other than the fact that every second of every day I twitch EVERYWHERE. Ooh, and my hands are shaky too. I've always heard that even if the twitching preceded *** which I know is EXTREMELY RARE, if not even possible at all, it was localized. I know that what I have (although it started localized) pretty much jumped to every part of my body within a month or two. Now, 7 months later, still strong, still able to do everythign I ever was, just freaking twitching nonstop. Would someone please chime in and help my ailing mind out. E

You just have some relentless hot spots, don't worry. Have you been to a neuro or had an EMG or anything? Not that you have to, just wondering. And yes, you would have definite weakness by now. The usual time frame (I have read on medhelp.com written by a licensed neuro that answers questions like this) said that **S will usually manifest itself as far as obvious symptoms are concerned within 5-10 months. Please don't take that as you have 3 more months to go (I am only in month 3 myself) you would just really and truly not be able to do all the things you still do. THAT is the evidence needed. You are still strong. You have no changes in your limbs or their abilities. I get shaky hands as well other muscles too from time to time, especially when I worry over this. Drink gatorade, eat bananas and DISTRACT yourself. I'm still working on that myself so not trying ot be a hpocrite since I've been panicking too. It's just easier to read people's posts and let them know they're ok as they truly sound like they are. Like you..too much time has passed with nothing else going on. Trust in that. Time is on your side on this one!

5-10 months??? i thought it was a given that you would have weakness before twitching???i am coming up to month 6 and my calfs are cramping up more and more...i think this might be the start of something

Hey there!Seven months of twitching without weakness speaks against **S. Hotspots nothing serious too, even if they persist for a a long time. And you're right, "Slow Onset **S" is very rare. Interestingly, most Google results for this keyword lead to board entries (including aboutBFS) of scared people asking and speculating about it :) I can assure your that the search result would have looked different if it was something widespread and menacing. Just compare it with "lung cancer"... By the way, I have also read that slow onset **S does indeed have to do rather with localized twitching than with bodywide twitching. Does anybody have more info on this? Just to clear out any further doubts...

I'm sorry! Wasn't trying to worry anyone, *beep* it! It actually gave me some comfort to read that in that short of a time (it really is if you think about it) you would have SOME sort of more delbilitating symptom like weakness or whatever. I was on the medhelp.com or whatever it is site and peple get certain questions answered by doctors. I went to the neurology forum where folks were asking a lot about fascics and twitching, etc. and when someone asked about tongue twitching, the doc replied that "standard presentation of **S does not begin with twitching without any weakness." I would have to go back and find it again if I could before I try and quote further. I didn't find it harmful info, I promise! I wouldn't have shared it if it scared me!!Has anyone had tongue twitching by the way? I haven't yet and I think if I do, I will freak out. That one scares me. It's like I'm waiting for it to happen...
