6 Months Anniversary with BFS - Update

This past Sunday (March 6) marked my 6 month "anniversary" with bfs. My twitching continues, but it's more subdued and I seldom really notice it any more. I still have days when I feel fatigued, and the fatigue usually appears in either both legs or my right leg and right arm. The fatigue usually leaves as quickly as it came. It's sometimes worse on cold or damp days. I'm still on Zoloft (25mg/day) and I think that's a good thing. I've gained back every single ounce I lost over the summer from anxiety. At the rate I'm going, I may just break 140 lbs! I've even put some back on my waist.

(As I'm writing this, my left bicep started thumping!)

Moreso than ***, the specter of MS seems to creep in from time to time. That's what triggered my initial health anxiety last summer. I just keep remembering that I had numerous neuro exams, numerous blood workups by both a GP and a neurologist, an MRI with contrast, thorough physical, and conduction tests and EMG on both legs -- ALL CLEAN! If I had either disorder, things would have progressed in the six months that have elapsed.

I continue to exercise and I'll soon start walking regularly again as the weather warms up and the days get a bit longer. I've loaded my iPod with tons of new music (I've discovered I love new age -- Yanni, Nicholas Gunn, David Arkenstone, etc.) so I can walk and listen at the same time.

I'm looking forward to taking a five week leave of absence from work this summer. I'm planning to get a camper and going away for a while.

It's amazing how even with all the reassurance I've been given and all the positive feedback here on this forum, the anxiety thing can still sometimes creep up on us and make us temporarily wonder if we're really okay. WE ARE! We just have to remember that!

I believe that a certain amount of anxeity will always be with us,Thats O.K. though. as long as you keep pushing forward,As it sounds like you are. this is the way we win the war.No matter how bad we are feeling, just kick it up another notch, take that trip, take that hike, ride that bike, run that mile, etc. If we approach this disorder like this,It does not stand a chance of defeating us  .

Good news! Glad to hear your sound so positive! A five week break, that sounds great. I am looking forward to a 1 week spring break at the end of April, that's when the kids are off from school and maybe head someplace warm. The threat of snow is looming overhead for the next few days here,,,can't stand it. I am at 9 mths now and it has settled down some, though there are days when it flares, especially when I am sick with a cold or some kind of virus. I feel it mostly in my feet, the arches and sides to be exact with some thumping here and there all over. I get some othere strange symptoms too, but I think also about the 2 clean neuro exams, his assurance that I don't have anything ominous and 2 clean exams at my gp that I am o.k.

Very glad to hear from ya!!! Keep it up!!
