3 Year Twitching Anniversary!

Well, I am pretty much at my 3 year twitching anniversary today! The signature states the 27th, but truth be told I can't remember the exact date - just sometime in late January 2007. I feel just as good, and actually probably better, than I did back in early 2007. I saw a neuro and was given a battery of physical tests in early 2008 and was given the "all clear" sign. I've also been in the gym and have gained considerable muscle mass. My twitching has gone down considerably, but it's still definitely present, especially after I stretch out my muscles. My wrist sometimes gets tired when taking notes in class (I'm in college, set to graduate in May) but that's only after writing quite a bit and can also be explained by my tendinitis in my left wrist because I'm left handed. Is it a pretty safe assumption to say my twitching is now officially BFS and not something more sinister?

Great to hear from you Brian and to learn that all is well after 3 years. Enjoy your time as a student - best years of your life!!!RegardsSimon

I think three years definitely puts you in the clear and the fact that you are getting better not worse makes it as far from sinister as it gets. If you don't mind, it would be helpful to know more specifically about the state of your symptoms now. How many twitching episodes do you get on a typical day and in how many places? I think some people, including myself, often wonder just what others are experiencing and how their condition fits along the continuum. You did a very good deed in reporting your anniversary. I am certain you reassured lots of people.

I have hot/cold sensations in my extremities sometimes, but they come and go. Some days I may not experience it at all. I get cramps, but they're not severe at all. I still twitch a lot, though I can't put a number on it. If I had to guess I'd say about 50x or so times a day.

Thanks for the additional details GuitarGuy. I know counting twitches is far from accurate. I think if you can count them easily you don't even have problem. Again, I am glad to hear that you are doing so well.

As do I. One thing I noticed that has helped considerably is dieting more, being in the gym, and lowering the amount of sugar/caffine. I still drink sodas, but not as many and try to make sure they're diet when I do. Diet Dr. Pepper and Coke Zero are my favorite diet drinks. I got a bit husky after high school, when I was only 5'11 185. Now I'm 6'1 240 but I've been trying to lose weight. I think I'm around 230 now after two weeks of diet/exercise. My goal is to be 205 by May 7th, the day I graduate and the day after I turn 22.
