24 Hours to Neuro Eval: Hoping for Normalcy

Hi allI posted a few weeks ago in a blind panic about my BFS (or worse) symptoms onset and the unbearable delay to see a neuro. Well, about 50 panic attacks later and I am only 24 hours away from what I hope will be the beginning of a return to something more closely resembling a normal life. I think I have had about a dozen scary non-twitching symptoms which foretold bad things, but they have all pretty much faded away and I am left with twitching. Just like everyone else on the board I've had all different types of twitches - big ones, little ones, ones you can see, ones you can't, rippling ones in the legs, jerking ones when going to sleep, etc. Hearing every one else's experiences has helped me deal with this over the past couple months. My main concern now is with my left hand/arm. It seems like the twitching has been almost non-stop there, and it seems like it has taken a toll. My fingers and forearm muscles are achy as if they have been strained, and I seem to have less stamina when I hold my arm out and do everyday tasks. My wife claims this is due to all my self-testing. Hopefully she's right. I'm in a positive frame of mind (at least as of this this very second!), and am optimistic of a good dx tomorrow. I hope to have some good news to report. I have found the detailed neuro debriefs posted by other members to be the best medicine for me (especially sparkrlock's recent post-many thx), so will try to provide this level of detail when I return. I am going to one of the top hospitals in Australia, so am confident of the quality of the neuro. Wish me luck!Chris

Hey Chris!Best of luck tommorow, I am SURE you are going to be fine!! I have the achy arm thing alot. Sometimes it is hard to hold the brush to do my hair of shampoo or hang out the washing, it comes and goes with me. I also get it in my legs on and off. I twitch allover randomly but 24/7 in my calves. Oh Chris I am an Aussie to from Ballarat! Where abouts are you! It is good there is a few of us now!! Please let us know how you go.Warm regardsSandra

Good luck Chris - I'm sure you will be told very good news. Your symptoms don't sound anything more ominous that anyone else's here, and the twitching - perfectly normal. I'm looking forward to this being over for you very soon. And thank you for your optimistic post in my panicked message. I appreciate it and will certainly let you all know how I make out, too (ack!!! )Joanne

Joanne/Sandra, Thanks for the kind words and support. Feeling pretty good about tomorrow now.Sandra - I'm from Sydney. I saw that you have a LOOONNGG wait for the Neuro to come up from Melbourne. I thought my wait was bad! Hope you can hang in there OK until the big day comes. I don't think I could've copped that wait and would've made the trek down to Melbourne! All the best,Chris
