my 14 year old was asking me questions about my twitching which we refer to in my house as the disease called metrotwitchyiosis (my 10 year old named it that) whaile we were talking her thumb started twitching! i could actually see it! of course it freaked her the heck out, but i wonder how much of it was created by our conversation....like twitching because it was on her mind? anxiety about it perhaps?

I know this. When I absolutely freaked out because I knew I was going to die, the twitching went out of control also. As time went by and I calmed down the twitching has slowed considerably. I am relatively certain that anxiety is not the root of my twitches. However, I am equally sure that anxiety caused my twitching to spiral out of control. The mind is a crazy thing. In looking back, I remember twitching randomly for a long time before I ever fixated on it.

Fasciculation-cramp syndrome is rare and hereditary disease, so it might be this case. It is not just BFS as it is a bit more described (but still benign, uknown ethiology and no cure except for muscle relaxants and gabapentin).

EyeoftheWild:This is not BFS. Fasciculation-cramp syndrome is known as very rare and hereditary disorder. Sorry I did not mention I do not mean BFS, this one is different unit altough in general textbooks you may read "benign fasciculations" as not all authors regard BFS as diagnosis.
