like i describe before i'm 36 years old and i have widespread fasciculation for about 10 month without muscle weakness or muscle atrophy.
my neurological exam was normal exept for increased reflexes in both legs witout signs of pirmidalic change.(no babinski or another signs)
i had 2 emg test which showed the same findings: needle emg showed mild neurogenic changes in a single muscle without evidence of denervation .nerve condition was normal
from what i understand single isolated "unusual" finding is unlikely to be ALS, and is more likely to be either an isolated muscle or nerve injury or just membrane excitability.
but what about the combination of fasciculation with increase reflex and the isolated "unusual" finding ??
i read in medhelp that A general rule is that fasciculations in relaxed muscle are never indicative of a motor system disease unless there is an associated weakness, atrophy, or reflex change
what is the meaning of reflex change??
what is the probability of developing als considering all those factors??
