    Anxiety Over Unsettling Twitches

Plenty of us here are physicians. Please go read my recent post and realize that your symptoms (i.e. Thumb jerking etc) are verbatim what I have gone through with absolutely no progression and a normal EMG.

Normal EMG After 1 Year Twitching

Thanks all. Aussie---my post really wasn't meant as a "do as I say not as I do" but more of a " here is the struggle I have gone through." I, like everyone else, have good and bad days. The point of the post was so that people who are new here, who are struggling, can see my story and realize...

Normal EMG After 1 Year Twitching

Hey all,As many of you know I am a physician who was overwhelmed with anxiety in regards to this fasciculation nonsense. I have been twitching for almost 1 year (in 2 weeks) and have had 2 previously normal EMGs. I arranged another one for myself today because I have way too much access to...

    Recurrent Hotspots: Any Experiences?

I have a question for all of you---I seem to get recurrent hotpsots---strong ones in my right middle finger and left thumb. These go away for long periods of time and then recur in the exact same spot, the exact same twitch.Do any of you get hotspots that recur after being gone for long periods...

Anxiety Over 11 Months of Twitching: Scheduling Emg?

Hey Simon---I saw a specialist in CBT and anxiety. He thinks also that a good amount of the symptoms can be attributed to my anxiety. I've only seen him 2 times so it was mostly a getting to know you period and we haven't started it yet.My EMG appointment is Monday and I have another...

Anxiety Over 11 Months of Twitching: Scheduling Emg?

Thanks Twin---I hope so. But much like all of you guys when you are feeling your worst--I am convinced that I am the one exception on these forums.

    Jerky Movements in Right Hand

My left thumb jerks forcefully. I get a bizarre sensation as if the muscle is excited or tight then it twitches like mad pulling itself towards the palm from the thenar eminence and then it starts all over again. My hands and fingers are my worst hot-spots and for some reason scare me the most.

Anxiety Over 11 Months of Twitching: Scheduling Emg?

As some of you know from reading my posts I am 11 months into this twitching nonsense. Today has been one of my worst anxiety days since it all started and I have (and I know many of you will think me ridiculous) gone ahead and scheduled 1 more EMG for 1 week from Monday. I have had 2...

    Reassuring Diagnosis of BFS?

Also, your fingers are active and leading to the tremor (likely essential tremor). A Parkinson's tremor is a resty tremor. Lay your hand flat against a table and relax---does it still move?

    Reassuring Diagnosis of BFS?

Parkinson's doesn't typically start in the pinky. I think this is being perpetuated around the internet because the 1st thing Michael j Fox noted was a persistent tremor in his pinky.

    Types of Muscle Cramps?

Hey any of your crampers out there----I get pain in my hands/forearms/feet---mostly at night and sometimes it wakes me up from sleep. It feels like the muscle is tightening (as in the soles of my feet/forearm) lasts for 2-10 seconds and spontaneously goes away. Can be painful---not unbearably...

    Anxiety and Thumb Twitching

Thank you both for your responses and allowing me to flesh out my anxiety. It's amazing how this nonsense takes hold and causes one to lose the ability to think rationally. I am not sure what it'll take for me to actually get over this fear---another EMG/another clean neuro exam/1 year post...

    Reassuring Diagnosis of BFS?

This looks nothing like a Parkinsonian tremor which is classically a resting "pill-rolling" type tremor that occurs between the index finger and thumb. I have a similar tremor in my left pinky which is like just a benign essential tremor.Don't forget the most important aspects of parkinson's...

    Anxiety and Thumb Twitching

Hey all,My anxiety is through the roof and I was hoping for a little help and I have a few questions. My last thumb twitch stopped but now I have a weird new one that begins in my left forearm and only twitches the tip of my thumb (extensor pollicis longus muscle). Let me tell you---this is a...

    Foot Pain and Anxiety Issues

Hey all,I was hoping to see if any of you have experienced anything similar to what is occurring in me now that is skyrocketing my anxiety.I have been having pain in both of my feet---again it is sort of a tightness pain, mid-foot, sole of foot---and I wouldn't think that it is an actual cramp...

    Confessing a Physician

It's tough for me to admit this to all of you who have helped me with your posts when I have needed it---but (like some of the other posters) I am a physician. I am not a neurologist, but I am an academic physician (albeit a young one) at a research institution in the US. I see patients daily...

    Wrong Sub-Forum: Tight ThumbPad?

Thank you so much Krackersones. Often I am only here to provide myself reassurance when I am really down---You guys have been wonderfully helpful.

    Wrong Sub-Forum: Tight ThumbPad?

I posted this in the wrong sub-forum--it should be here (my apologies)Do any of you get this too? My right thumb/thumb pad feels very tight---I have no trouble moving it and no change in strength but it feels off/like the muscle and tendon are stiffening.I guess I am more concerned about this...

    Thumb Tightness and Brisk Reflexes

Do any of you get this too? My right thumb/thumb pad feels very tight---I have no trouble moving it and no change in strength but it feels off/like the muscle and tendon are stiffening. I guess I am more concerned about this because I saw another neuro (saw the last 1 month into this----which...
