    Coping with Symptoms: Arm Pain

Hi I haven't been on here for a while, probably because I was coping with my symptoms quite well. However, over the past few weeks they have been the worse I have ever had (and it is coming up to a year since this all started). My arms are suffering the most. My left elbow noticeably twitches as...

    Excess Saliva??

I also worried about this. I found that the more I thought about it the greater the increase in salvia and, in turn, the greater the increase in the fear. I spoke to my neuro re: this and he said that excess saliva is nothing to fear, it's how you deal wit it, i.e. if swallowing is normal -...

    Lip Twitches - Anybody Else?

Hi Kate I get the lip twitches too! At least once a day. Kirsten :)

    Seeking Hope in Life's Turbulence

My neuro said the same (about it passing in a few months) but I don't feel any let up as yet and have a feeling this may go on forever! (Which is why I will be so angry if I discover this was a drug induced reaction that they (the medical profession) won't admit too.) If it does go on and on...

    Hookah? You out there?

Pleased to hear you had the all clear! Now you can get on with your life (even if that means living with the twitching). I flinch and jerk a lot (although not necessarily visibly to anyone else) and I am doing the same and trusting the clean EMG! Kirsten :)

    Exploring Anticonvulsant Drugs for PNHE-BFS

I'm in the UK too and my neuro gave me an anticonvulsant, its brand name is Rivotril (it's part of the diazapam family). I still twitch away, but I have to admit it does reduce my twitching and thus, I rely on it - otherwise I think I would go nuts!! Pleased to hear your medication is working...

Myoclonic Jolts and Benign Fasciculation Syndrome

I jerk too, more so when I am falling asleep...but I have to say this has improved a lot, but was quite pronouced when I started twitching. Also, I flinch in the day whilst I am awake, my left upper arm and my right ankle are the worst!! I hope this provides some comfort! Kirsten

Random Twitching After Running 3 Miles

Hi there I'm not sure if you have had the EMG yet (?) but can I just say that I really didn't find it unpleasant at all. In fact I preferred that to the MRI. I bet you anything that when you hear the silence on the machine you will be filled with relief. Keep positive, some things are sent to...

    Twitching Fingers and Jerking Ankles?

Hi there Can I ask if anyone else gets twitching in their fingers (it's almost as if they creak?!) ? It's driving me nuts. Also, I notice that when I cross my legs, the ankle of the leg that is crossed sometimes moves/jerks involuntarily. Does ayone else have this? Thanks for any input...

    Dealing with Backsliding Fears

Beth In a way you have made my day, the possibility that one day this may ease off is so comforting to me! Like Paul said you do not have MND. Focus on the positives. This is one spot, perhaps it is just like one of those "normal" twtches everyone here once experienced (I use to think, wow a...

    Muscle Flexing: Unreliable?

Hi there Hmm, sounds like your neuro was a complete a***!! Mine was a bit dismissive, but always reassuring. He should have thought about the mental trauma he would naturally inflict on you by such negative responses. Listen, I am only 24 and I too have widespread muscle twitching. This...
