    Welcome to Motherhood: My Story

Hello everyone, For those of you who know me, I am doing well. Motherhood is great. My son is almost 6 months old and keeps us very busy. I make my 1.5 year mark at the end of the month. It's easy to remember now cause my son was born two days before my twitching anniversary. I haven't been...

Is twitching in toes of one foot common for BFS?

There are alot of folks here who had twitching in one area in the beginning, do a search. My left calf twitched NON-STOP for two months straight. I saw a neuro who said it was not ALS (without an EMG, he was 100% positive) but because it was in one leg, felt is was disc related. He said I could...

    eye jerks

Thanks. I am sure it is very common in many nearsighted people. Usually these things are, you just gotta talk to a live person (MD) who sees it all the time. I am quite blind (not from MS) and I have all sorts of fun things like flashes and floaters . . . all common and no biggie. Personally, I...

    Myoclonic Eye Jerks - Experiences?

Hey Mark, It's me again. Funny you should mention this because I had them over the weekend. Except mine were more like myoclonic jerks of the eyes . . . like they blinked while shut, but more of an "I Dream of Jeannie" type of blink. (My arms didn't fold, I guess that is next.) It happened...

Political Figure Passes Away After 2 Year Battle

A political figure in my state died today from ALS. It's all over the news. He was diagnosed in May, 2005. So he didn't even make it 2 years. He was 68. Just an FYI.

    Is this a resting tremor?

JG, Thank you so much. This was a very information post. It helped me greatly. Everything you said was 100% accurate. There was a trigger, a few days after the stressor things began, my concern and focus fed it, etc. Sometimes it is hard to relax my hands when I am anxious, but the one...

Finger Twitching & Panic: My Experience

I am the queen of jerking fingers. Like Mark, I also went through a state of panic over this (still am) -- see my posts. But quick answer, yes. My pointer finger, thumb (both at once), and pinkie have all jerked, tremored, and twitched.

    Right Thumb Jerking Violently

HELP! My right thumb is jerking violently! It does that hold and release thing, then it rapid fires like four or five times in a row! Rapid fire as in jerking wildly! At the same time, the outer part of my palm is twitching (the kind you can see indenting) and at one point, my pinkie was...

Sensation on Pointer Finger, Anxiety, Twitching

I've had a sensation that resembles an ant crawling on the side of my pointer finger (tip) since this morning. It seems to be pulsating, like a twitch. Could this be a teeny, tiny twitch? I am going through a lot of anxiety right now. My twitches are up, body jerks and finger jerks are up, my...

    BFS with pregnacy

Yes, I have. I got BFS in May and got pregnant in August while I was still going through the worst part of it! But to answer your question, no. The twitching did NOT get worse. It actually got better. The worst part was not being able to take the Klonopin. (Although they okayed .5 once a day...

    My Pinkie Is Twitching Uncontrollably

Last night, I woke up several times to a twiching pinkie. It is still twitching this morning. It's not constant, but frequent. It seems to be triggered by bending my wrist in a certain direction. It is really strong, and my pinkie is jerking from side to side. In an irregular twitch pattern if...

    Readers Digest March 2005

I am another "sensative" type. My twitching started the day after I picked up a PEOPLE magazine and saw an article on Jennifer Estess. I read one sentence . . . her age and muscle twitching. Ok, so that triggered ten months worth of twitching? HELLO!!! Speaking of omens, the man who owned our...

    Good Article

One member worries about a "clicking sensation" in her joints. This is a reference to me. I am a member of that site. This fear began my twitching. Peg

Correct Thread Title: Misinformation on Cord Blood

You have some misinformation. I just read an article on cord blood and the number for MS were much higher than ALS. The 10,000 cases of ALS per year figure is correct, but that is not the correct figure for MS. I personally know of five people with ms and only one person with als.

    Foot and Calf Cramping Issues

My left foot cramps but not my right. Also, both feet cramp if I point my toes. I get cramps in my calves as well. I'm not sure if stuff posted on *** websites is always accurate or explained fully. It is my understanding cramping is a later sign. And not everyone with *** cramps. AND my neuro...

    Twitching Foot - Need Reassurance

I have developed a twitch on the TOP of my left foot. It has been twitching now for 24 hours. It has me really freaked out. I guess because it's a new spot and persistent. Also, I have not twitched much at all for the past 4-6 weeks and was finally starting to feel good about it. Just need some...

    Strange Foot Movement After Flexing

Tonight I was watching a movie, and my arches were cramping (they always do that in certain positions, like pointing), so I flexed my left foot and when I released it, my foot went wild with jerking. It was very strange, like a string was attached to my foot and someone was tugging on it. It was...

    Same Neuro? Tremor Comparison

Did we see the same neuro? LOL. Mine said the same things! But he "offered" me an EMG and told me to think about it, and I never went back. I also have an essential tremor in my hand/pinkie. What is yours like? Peg

Left Calf Twitching: Is it ALS?

My left calf started jerking today every time it twitches. Is this just a big twitch? I have heard ALS patients do not get twitches big enough to move limbs. I did have three cups of coffee this morning. I have had the jerking thing in my fingers before, just not my leg. Thanks, Peg
