Anyone Had MRI Show Disc Issues?

How many of you have had an MRI on any portion of your spine that showed disc issues? Anyone with cord compression or impingement? disc herniations or bulges?just curious...

Mine showed a bulging disc and some compression, not a herniated disc.According to my GP and therapists this could be the cause of my symptoms. My neuro(s) didn't share that thought.

I had an MRI of my lower back it showed two bulged disk but no impingement so they say that couldn't be the cause of my symptoms, however my chiropractor seems to disagree! She says that while laying flat for the mri it spreads the vertibraes out so impingement usually wouldn't show, she said she'd bet on it that if I had an MRI while sitting up it would for sure show impingement!

Yes...Mild stenosis & defect on both sides of L5-S-1 that could *possibly* cause nerve impingement. An anterior annular tear same level. My current symptoms are on left side only. I wouldn't be so freaked out if I didn't have so much twitching along with the squeezing, numbness, achiness. I have had sciatica on this side before but never had one twitch with it.

interesting...thanks for the feedback so far. I currently have an extruded disc that is causing some cord impingement....i have had mixed results as far as doctors wanting to give it any possibility in my BFS symptoms like you Fjordian the two neuros did not think so....but other doctors did...so I am lost on that one. JCmommie is all of your BFS in your legs? do you get BFS symptoms in upper body?

2 level C spine stenosis - 8 mm canal. 2 cervical disks herniations with spinal compression. My twitching is body wide, calves 24/7.--Take careAndy

No, doctors did not think it is correlated. But since there is a cord compression one of them said myelopathy causes symptoms below the level of compression.I also found information that cervical myelopathy causes neurological symptoms in hands and legs...I have a neck operation scheduled in 3 months.--Take care,Andy

Ive tried all the conservative options. But after second cervical MRI it turned that the cird compression is worse.I have numbness in fingers, as well as numbness in toes and feet. The operation will be c5-c6-c7 ACDF.--Take care,Andy

i have one protrusion disc in Th part which push on spinal cord and dural sack and push on left root of spinal cord. Also in neck part i have 2 protrusion but without push. Also i have Tarlov cyst.

I think that the disk issues and the twitching are somehow related. Interestingly, at least half of the doctors does not think there is a correlatopn. But here is a poll from a spinal health forum (nothing nasty, I think it's reassuring for BFSers with LBP):Nobody there is afraid of something sinister...

Hi,My tests included MRI of lumber as I had bad back pain when twitching kicked off and for months afterwards. This showed disk extrusion (rupture) at L5/S1 and mild root nerve impingement. My neurologist thought this was linked to symptoms but didn't go into detail. Maybe its part of a package of causes? All the bestRob

Hi, anyway i think if it was related to a problem in your spine you would have symptoms only below that poin in your spine right? I guess that would not explain why you twich in your face or eyes (just using common sense but maybe I am wrong). I honestly do not think that is the BFS cause.Cheers.

Just wanted to update my spinal injection results that I had about 10 days ago. The injection did not do much to relieve any numbness, tingling, spasms, weakness etc. I was disappointed, but what can you do? I am going back to my spinal specialist next week to decide what to do next. She thinks I have significant impingement around L-4 to S-1.I think my BFS symptoms/causes are separate from this issue. Which sucks, because I have twitching muscles on my affected side which are scary if you let yourself think the twitches are tied with muscle weakness. And yes, I do have some clinical weakness on my left foot. So I want to stress here that I believe this to be a whole separate thing. I still am twitching body-wide, affected and unaffected side.
