Seeking Relief from Abdominal Twitching

I have been trying not to vent my symptoms but now I really have to. In addition to an excessive saliva I have had for last 2-3 weeks (no reflux issues) I have developed really frequent twitching in my chest (sides, front) and abdomen. In the morning it is the worst, I fear the morning every day...but also during the day: I bend, my chest will twitch, I lean on my chair, abdomen will twitch. It is worse and worse, I am reaching 6 years in a two months (approximately) but the condition is like 250% worse than in my first year. Otherwise I would not be scared, it is the progression that makes me fear the worst. Thanks

I can't really add much other than that I could have written that. I too hate venting because taking an inventory of my twitches usually doesn't help my anxiety... My twitching went from a small twitch in my tongue seven years ago to some twitching in my feet and calves (maybe two years in) to absolutely everywhere right now. Abdomen, chest, tongue, neck, throat, and recently thighs. When I catch a cold, I even get cramping in my chest. When I sit still or lie down, there is not one second that I don't twitch somewhere.

Hi there,I do too have twitches in the abdomen, chest, neck (even behind the ear area twitches!) not to mention legs and arms. For me it started 7 months ago and only got worse but no weakness and this is all that matters. For you, after so many years can't possibly be anything more tahn BFS. You passed the test of time, the most reliable one! Take care Anita

TwitchyAz: No, I am weaning from Tegretol because of excessive saliva which I hope is coming from the Tegretol/Keppra combo. It is much worse because of the withdrawl, of course.

Sounds all too familiar. In the past two months I've been getting more and more upper body twitches. Now, both my arms, shoulders, my back, chest and neck are driving me crazy. I've got a couple of good facial twitches going too. This all started in my calfs about eight months ago. They've been going non-stop. I've got a great neurologist. He's a real expert in motor neuron disease. I've had three clean clinical exams and one clean EMG on my legs and arms. Yet........You know the story! With each and every new twitch.... with each and every cramp..... each and every bout of tingling, tension and pain.... the flames of doubt are once again being fanned.Gotta love BFS. It's the gift that keeps on giving.

Docen, you should know that any muscle area can be affected by BFS and what you are describing is consistent with how we know this stuff occurs. You are falling into the rut of focusing on your symptoms and the idea of "progression". It's a fact that in BFS our symptoms will change over time, based on a myriad of factors. Even after 6 years its not uncommon to have symptoms increase slowly or quickly over a short or long period of time. Manage your expectations and avoid spiralling down the pit of anxiety.

I know I just feel you all twitch occassionally or in some hot spots but I have is like twitching every few seconds in the areas like lateral arms muscles, thighs and abdominal musculature. These muscle groups are where MND fasciculations are being searched for :( I really feel this is worse every month.

Everyone here twitches in that area I guess, but mine are basically just in these areas. I have no calves/feet twitching which is so common...
