Tongue Twitching for Over a Year

I have been twitching for over a year now. About three months ago, my symptoms "flared", and I now have developed a slight tremor, and feel small electrical impulses in my tongue. This morning, I woke up to a full blown twitch in my tongue. I have begun taking Effexor XR 37.5 mg to try to relieve some anxiety, but two weeks in, it's not helping. My tongue feels swollen and raw, and the twitch is scaring the crap out of me. I also notice that I twitch more when trying to fall asleep, and upon waking. Has anyone else had these "flares" that led to another twitch? How about the tongue? I am an anxious wreck. Please help.

I have tongue twitches every day too........and have eased off during the day but still the main times they kick in are waking up and at sleep time and has done this every day since about March..........initially they were constant all day literally for about 5 months very visible and very much felt....

Not daily but I do get them there. Appeared after 3,5 years of BFS for the first time...

My tongue twitches often. I even had one that went on 24/7 for a year and a half and then stopped, there's a video of that one somewhere in my old posts. In fact, tongue twitches were what made me visit a neurologist for the first time six years ago. He was and still is unimpressed by them.
