Twitching Hand - Increasing Uncomfort

For a week I have been noticing that the small muscles of my right hand are twitching more and more. Interossei ones, the ones on the top of your hand. That causes my fingers to move, often middle finger, but also the ring finger. On the top of it, I feel something like stiffnes and occassional crampy feeling there..and I feel I can't take it anymore. I'm trying not to think that with these muscles often MND begins but its so frequent now. Just one hand, which is also worse. I rarely twitched on my hands before and now boom, muscles innervated by ulnar nerve are all twitching..the finger movement is terrible to feel, also I feel more shaky.I am sorry for this post, I have been having tought time lately..
 
someone else speculated if you spend a lot of time on a android phone or iphone you will develop these symptoms.spend time off computer and off phone and see if it improves :D)
 
I can remember that my hand used to twitch a lot for weeks at a time a year after this all started for me. And I had lots of cramps that moved my thumb towards the palm. I haven't had this as a hotspot for a long time now. So I guess yours will also eventually stop.Recently, I have rather strong twitches in my forearms that move a finger...
 
If you comment, here is the video of my latest "darling". Unfortunately it is now appearing also in 2nd,3rd interossei muscles.
 
Hi TwitchyMD,mine looked just like that. But I had them one hotspot at a time. But I don't know why that should make a difference... Looking at your other videos, your twitches really look a lot like mine...
 
Thanks.Unfortunately, also my 2nd dorsal interosseus started to do this. If I saw that on a patient, I would say that its ulnar nerve lesion at anterior horn cell level. I feel lost.
 
Docen,Sorry I didn't reply earlier, i missed this post over the weekend. The tops of my hand look just like that. I swear, it could be my video. Mine have been doing this for over a year now off an on. When I had my EMG at the Mayo clinic last February, my hand was twitching like yours. It was clean except for fascics. So don't let your mind tell you its something other than benign.Note that this video was taken a year ago and BEFORE I had my clean EMG at Mayo....-Matt
 
Docen,Most of the time it does not move my fingers, they are just tiny twitches. And yes, I've posted about this recently where I had these twitches occurring in multiple spots on the tops and palm sides of my hand at the same time.-Matt
 
Yes, I think we are arguing semantics here. Your statement is more accurate. I should not have included the word "only". They can visually tell if the fasciculations appear benign or if it warrants them to warm up the EMG machine and check to see if they are malignant. If the EMG shows just fascics, and the clinical exam is clean, then the ruling is usually BFS/CFS/BCFS,etc.I guess my point is that I have been told that MND related fascics are visually distiguishable by the trained and experienced professional from the type of fascics that I have, we have. And I have been told this more than once at the same MND clinic.
 
My first twitches were fingers man. Thumb pulling towards my finger over and over. And that video of your hand with the jiggles? Imagine that going on right on your face. Above your ear. For an hour or two. Talk about wanting to punch yourself in the head ... .That was my thing today. Always happens after I eat something my body doesn't like for some reason. Always. Or when I am tired/run down.
 
Hm, I would really need some reassurance. Today I just watched my hand. I did not feel but I saw twitches in 3 of my interossei muscles!!
 
All I can tell you is what I know you would be told at Forbes Norris ALS Clinic. "Your timeframe puts you well outside the zone of worry at this point. Your twitching is benign."I can all but guarantee that they would tell you this.Greg
 
TwitchDoc,Both your post are identical to what I have experienced off and on...and yes it has moved my fingers from side to side etc...hang in there
 
Just when I thought it is better, it started in the 3rd interosseus :( 4th is a bit better but when I clench my fist and release, it twitches really badly.
 
I get the same exact twitches on my hands. I could have been looking at my own hand in that video.I'm sure you're fine, because if not... I'm screwed too!:)
 
Well, that is not that reassuring but I see your point :) On the video, there is just one muscle twitching..but I often see also the adjacent one twitching the same way..and only on my right hand.
