This is a good question. I have frequent sleep starts occuring almost every night without fail along with BobJazzy-like twitching. My twitching started with medication use, so I've suspected there is some kind of connection there, however, I saw a neurologist and the test for myoclonus/dystonia came back negative. Of course, it was a physical exam and no additional testing was done, but I did not have inducible myoclonus. You know, I have wondered about this myself, however. Prior to taking the medication, I never had twitching and never had sleep starts, so who knows? My personal guess, based on a conversation with mommyLDN (Leanne), is that the myoclonic sleep starts are due to upper motor neuron hyperexcitability. I believe a neuro that Leanne spoke to awhile back offered up that explanation to her.All I know is my myoclonic sleep starts have been present ever since the first dose of medication and worsened with each subsequent dose, along with the twitching, which actually started on the second dose. I don't think everyone here gets these sleep starts and I think whether or not you get them probably depends on how you developed bfs in the first place, along with genetic factors as well. From what I can tell, they are probably benign, but they are annoying as f*ck. I personally hate them.
