Klonopin for BFS: Experiences and Updates

Ok, I know this topic has been done before in the past, but it's been awhile and I'm looking for some new experiences and updates from people who have tried Klonopin to help with their bfs symptoms. I am at a point where my BFS is so horrifically bad that I am risking losing my job and placing my family in severe financial jeopardy if I don't start sleeping at night. It's beyond the point of being "just anxiety" with me. I literally cannot and do not get more than 1-3 hours of very light REM sleep on any given night and it's been rapidly deteriorating to this over the 3 month period I've had BFS for. For instance, if I go to bed at 8pm, it takes at least 1-2 hours to fall asleep (on a good night) and then I usually wake up 1.5-3 hours later feeling totally unrefreshed and I am completely unable to fall back asleep. The heavy twitching and myoclonic shocks and jerking make any sleeping position uncomfortable and make falling asleep very difficult. Some nights the myoclonus and twitching is bad enough to keep me from sleeping at all, especially when it's heavy in my face and neck, which it is many nights. So my question is, for those of you who have experience taking Klonopin or are currently on it, how much would you say it has helped with your sleep? Is there anyone here who takes it daily? Has anyone had to deal with tolerance issues?

my dr has just giving me klonopin and i have not tried it . have you started it at all? and if so do you think it is helping at all?i right now am feeling very nervous because my problems is in my tongue and it freaks me out. it had not done it all this week and i just got a phone call that my dad is in the hospital and then it started so i think it is caused by stress.please get back to me. hope you are ok

I was given a prescription for klonopin during my first er visit 4 months ago. I took it a few times but it didn't help my twitchy symptoms. It did help me sleep during my time of sleep disturbances. I would have sleep starts and burn up internally, not allowing me to sleep. I took the lowest does 30 min before bed and it did help me fall asleep. I would also use zzzquil a couple times. I was desperate, my sleep symptoms were the worst at that time.Plus I really like to avoid medication, but I was desperate and it did help me a lot during that time I needed it.

I have a script for it, but I haven't touched it yet. Going to see a sleep neurologist next Friday (this will be my 7th doctor's appt. in 3.5 months. My twitching & jerking are so severe and intense at night that I definitely need something to help me sleep.
