24 Hour Chest Hotspot: Not Stopping?

Yesterday, both my right and left chest muscles started popping about once every 30 seconds. Then, my right muscle just started a continuous twitch... one every second, very rhythmic and constant. Its been that way for almost 24 hours. Has anyone had a hotspot that did not stop for 24 straight hours? I've had hotspots but none that were continuous like this.

Yes, I've had many hotspots that lasted more than a day, actually way more than that (several days)! Sometimes some of them were so rhythmic that I thought (or hoped) that it was actually a little heart beat (unfortunately it was not). Lately, I've been having a hotspot in my abdomen that I could feel perfectly well, especially while I was in bed laying down. Moreover, every time I sneeze the whole place goes crazy. This hotspot is quite new for me too...

Thank you for your replies. I have had hotspots before where the muscle would go into frequent spasms but never a hotspot that was so consistent like this. And I didn't workout or do anything to irritate the muscle, it just appeared. It has been continuous since yesterday afternoon. The only time I think it stopped was when I was sleeping because I woke up and thought, "hey it must be gone." But it started up about a minute later and has been going all morning. Very constant, and very rhythmic. Ugggh.Jujulee, it sounds like you and I are very alike with our symptoms.

Hey Matt,You're right; we have a lot of symptoms in common, that's why I like reading you so much... I feel less alone. What scares me the most is the unknown, not the symptoms per se (even though they can be extremely annoying sometimes, especially the ones affecting the fingers or the face). Every government or every major company has a crisis management group responsible to foresee all contingencies that might affect them, because they know that facing uncertainties can be very destabilizing, so how are we, mere mortals, supposed to deal with the unknown? by pretending everything is fine when we have a little twitch here and there every second or minute that is a constant reminder that something is wrong? But then again, I've been twitching nonstop for 14 months and I'm still okay... I guess time is the only thing that will alleviate our fears... don't count on doctors to help you.

Between November 2009 and February 2010 I had a continuous chest twitch for like four months. And it was all over, all the time, to the point where it was physically making my sternum hurt. You could just touch the cartilege around the sternum and it was sore as hell, every day.Eventually it went away, as these things always do. Although stuff like this does tend to flare up during the colder months.

hi !I have se same like you BobJazzy and jujulia  with one other thing my upper right abdomen (again that area) twitch since 4 months, but cramps stopped in that area, and my workout abs are always perfect ! it's think more time we spend with that twitches without motor symptom and more we need to put away that *disease*, simply we can put that away right now. Most difficult is to live with that without concret answers.

Matt,I had a hotspot on my thigh that lasted 5 days once. This was before my all-over twitching started. I just had this twitch, once every 2-3 seconds that would not go away at all. At that point, I finally took a xanax, and lo and behold that one twitch went away, never to return. 3 months later, my calf twitching started instead...which I consider the beginning of my BFS.I think normal people without BFS have hotspots too. I was talking to my sister and she said she was having a twitch in her abdomen for two weeks straight, where she was worried she was pregnant again! No fun, I know... but from what I've read, lots of people have hotspots for months!Mitra

Stop the clock. The continuous chest twitch finally ceased after about 3 days and has not twitched in 24 hours. I'm fully prepared for it come back but atleast I can say its not continuous anymore. Apparently, it moved to my left thenar muscle on the top of my left hand (between thumb and index). That's been twitching all day today. Uuuugggh.-Matt
