Twitching Feet for 11 Months

My feet twitch 24/7. They twitch in the arches and on the outer side. They twitch very hard and feel like they are snaping and popping all of the time. The twitching started 11 months ago--widespread. The feet have been going every since, but the amount and frequency in the feet have gotton worse. They also go through periods of easy cramping, but then no problems with cramping at times. I have no weakness. I walk 5 miles most days. I had a neuro exam at 1 month, but he did not feel an EMG was necessary. He just said benign. Does anyone else have twitching this bad in their feet? My calves twitch quite a bit, too.

Hi Sueboy!

I get in occasionaly in my feet, it is worse in my calves, they are like 24/7 worse when I wake in the morning. My twitching is also widespread.

Warm regards
Sandra

Hi-

I started twitching in my feet about 2 years ago and they are still twitching to this day. Sometimes it is almost unbearable and other days I really don't notice. They come and go in waves, I can tell right before I get sick! I told my wife last week I was probibly going to have the flu because my twitches were everywhere and my foot would not stop (no breaks between twitches for 3 days). My neuro said that the feet are the most common besides calves to have twitching in. He would not even do an EMG there because the feet take so much of a beating. I went and got some jelly inserts for my shoes and it seemed to help bring them down a bit. So wear some comfortable shoes, and get some inserts that are really soft and it will help take some of the pressure off of your feet. I hope this helps a little, but I am 2 years out and still have it almost every day. Hang in there! TONS of people on here have foot twitching, mine started in my feet and went everywhere else in about 8 months.

My feet were in the inital place of twitching and still my worst. Mostl my arches, but then some elsewhere. It comes and goes in terms of frequency, some days they are nearly constant, other days not as bad, but always there. I do get them other places, but nothing like my feet. So far I am 3 months into this and am great otherwise, still running every day, liftin weights, etc. Saw a neuro about a month ago and passed the exam with flying colors and he didnt see a need for an EMG but said he wouldn't do my feet anyway bc the nerves are already damaged (like what was posted above). Some days my feet totally drive me crazy, other days they are SOO much better and I haven't found a trigger or why they fluctuate so much! Glad to know I am not alone!

Hi there
My feet twitch a lot - i really notice it in the mornings, on the sides of my feet, and on the arches. it can happen to both feet, or just be on one of them. i've had 3 mris, one emg, and all is normal. I used to twitch everywhere, and all the time. It comes and goes, now. i'm learning it is a real mental game, one we don't want to lose. winning would be nice. I hope you feel better. Your neuro exam was good, and the doctor was positive. celebrate and go shopping!!

Same fo me. The arches of my feet al already twitching for nine months now. Most of the time I don't feel it anymore and I only see them twitch or feel them when I put my finger on it. Neurologist same story: damaged nerves in the feet. I also have a non stop twitcher in my right forearm (a small stretch muscle near the elbow. Considering the "damaged nerve story"I figure its beacuse I am right handed, type a lot and work with a computer mouse a lot. Also here I most of the time only feel it when I put my finger on it. ist always there. And of course the random twitching all over the body

left foot has been the most active the past 5 months (first 2 months inot BFS = no feet). Now, my right foot (arches) started about a week ago....the same 1 million a second pulsing twitching that waxes and wanes all day long. Sometimes they do stop...other times...as long as 8 hours a day.
