Something I've noticed with BFS...
First of all, most of you know I'm a massage therapist. But, since I've had BFS, I haven't had much massage (or if I do, it's in the context of interviewing people for jobs so it's different).
Anyway, I was all excited the other night because I was getting an 1-1/2 hr massage from a friend of mine. Guess what 1) twitching got worse during the massage but better later 2) the deeper the massage, the less I liked it (VERY strange for me because I normally like really deep work) 3) it just didn't feel as good as it used to
I think because our muscles and nerves are so overtaxed from twitching that the excess stimulation of a deep massage can, in my case anyway, make it worse. A relaxation massage seems to work best for me now but even that amount of stimulation can be too much. In fact, if I wear tight boots up my calves, it aggravates the nerves there. Sometimes even my clothes rubbing against them can be annoying. Weird.
