Relaxing Escape in Hot Tub

Hot tub works well for me...not sure if I just don't feel them while in the hot tub or whether they actually do stop...don't really care...it's like a brief vacation...

I was wondering the same thing when I was in there. Just like you, whenever I go in the hot tub, I can't feel them either but I always thought it was because of the jets. This was definitely heat related for sure in the sauna....to be honest, (I can't believe I'm saying this!), it almost seemed too quiet-like something was missing. Guess I have gotten used to the twitches a bit!

Yep
Does for me as well, but only till im really relaxed- like a scotch with a sauna isnt bad for the twitches- seems to make them go aaawwwaaayyy

hmmm...wonder if I could sneak some Scotch into the sauna?...They'd be scraping me up off the ground in the morning...

It's got to have something to do with the heat. When I did that New Year's ocean plunge into the freezing water I know my calves were going a mile a minute after (not that I expected any different but the cold definitely stimulates the nerves to fire)

Only in New England will you find people crazy enough to take the New Year's plunge in freezing water...my son went surfing at Seabrook Beach last year...I'm just guessing, but I think it would be considered normal to twitch after a frigid plunge...I'm sticking to the hot tub...but, I'm with you..I'd drown if I drank scotch in there.

So if we think it may be heat related- Then I have to post the question-(cause i am one of those people that need the sun or i get depressed) Would it help to move to somewhere that is warm and sunny? Like Let say Belize-or Cabo San Lucas- or Cancun-(which alot of the time is cloudy by the way) Or southern California- Just anywhere warm and sunny- Just a thought- Anyone up for that?

Would it be an idea to try applying a heat pack wen we have severe twitching and seeing if that helps?

I might try it and get back to everyone. Only problem is that I don't always get one recurring muscle that twitches for long periods.

Anyone tried regular sauna visits as part of a detox-type program? I'm curious as if there might be any benefits. I've always enjoyed it when I've done it for brief periods, and some say there are good health benefits.

Are there any possible negative effects I should consider before I try it? I know you should drink fluids before and after to restore your body, but anything else? And any particular regimen for how often to go?

Thanks!

Oh, and I didn't get this idea from Tom Cruise's scientology () , haha, just curious :)
