Arch Pain, Needle Feeling?

I'm not sure if this is bfs related. I do alot of walking and when I sit down after along time on my feet I get a aching pain in the arch of my foot, along with a sharp pain and needle feeling. Even when I get up in the morning and first put pressure on it I get the same thing. When I'm walking during the day and loosening thing's up I don't feel a thing. Arch, shoe problem, tarrel tunnel or something else. Anyone else with this problem.

Funnily enough I get this very thing and have been fretting about it over the weekend - I think it may be a shoe thing. Somehow with BFS these things seem to take longer to go.
I don't think its anything serious though

That is TOTALLY plantar fasciitis. Just stretch it out in the morning. Many people have it at one time in their life or another. I have countless massage clients with it ...and both my husband and I have it from time to time. Not fun but it usually goes away. You can get booties to wear to bed if it gets bad- I'm sure they're real cute!

Could be either plantar fasctitis or tarsel tunnel.... Stretching and good shoes are a must.... Also proper fitting shoes with good arch support..
If that doesn't help you can seek the help of a podiatrist or PT... Usually resolves ...... I have tarsel tunnel and when I spend a lot of time on my feet.... Oh my can it be painful!!!!

See - here's the deal on what happens...when you are off your feet (or sleeping), the fascia under the feet tend to shorten, causing your foot to go into almost a slight "C" shape, if you know what I mean. Then, you go to step down on it and that fascia is forced to lengthen fast!- that causes the sharp pain. Then, as you walk around and let it stretch, it's fine. Some of my clients have found that keeping a pair of supportive shoes by their bed to step into first thing in the a.m. helps. (like Birkenstocks or whatever)

I wear birkenstocks as slippers in fact. Also wear them during the day. Never hardly ever walk barefoot.
Find that my feet are very painful sometimes when I get up. Must be that shortening of the fascial..... After a while they feel better but then if I overdo I can flare them again..... Good Luck...

Massagefan is right on for this one.

PF plain and simple. Some people get it worse than others, and there's never really any rhyme or reason for who or when. I needlessly fretted over this for weeks once, and my GP took five minutes to diagnose it. The stretching is really the accelerator that cures it - but even in the absence of it, if you just grin and bear it, and don't go long stretches of the day without using it, it will fade away.
